Auto-renewal automatically renews your subscription instances before they expire, preventing service interruptions caused by missed payments. You can disable auto-renewal at any time.
Usage notes
-
The first deduction attempt occurs at 08:00, nine days before the instance expires. If it fails, the system retries once a day for the next two days, for a total of three attempts. Ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance to avoid renewal failures.
NoteIf all three automatic deduction attempts fail, renew the instance manually to prevent service downtime and potential data loss.
-
If you manually renew before the scheduled auto-renewal date, the system automatically renews the instance before its new expiration date.
-
Auto-renewal takes effect on the following day. If your instance is set to expire tomorrow, you must renew it manually to avoid service interruption. For more information, see Manually renew a subscription instance.
During instance creation
When you enable auto-renewal during instance purchase, the renewal period is one month for monthly subscriptions and one year for yearly subscriptions. For example, if you purchase a six-month instance with auto-renewal enabled, the system automatically renews it for one month before expiration.
When you create a subscription ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance, you can select the Auto-Renewal checkbox after choosing a subscription duration. Upon expiration, the system automatically charges your Alibaba Cloud account for renewal.
For existing instances
After you enable auto-renewal, the system renews the instance based on the renewal period you select. For example, if you select a three-month renewal period, you are charged for three months at each renewal.
