Resource usage

Procedure

The following steps describe how to query resource usage for transcoding jobs. The process is similar for other job types.

1. Log on to the MPS console.

2. In the top navigation bar, select a region from the drop-down list.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Usage Query > Resource Usage.

4. On the Resource Usage page, select a resource type tab, such as transcoding, snapshot, automated review, or media fingerprinting. Set a time range, select a specific transcoding type from the drop-down list, such as Standard Transcoding (includes audio/transmuxing), and then view the usage statistics by Length or Tasks.

5. (Optional) To export the usage data, click the icon in the upper-right corner.

FAQ

Why does the data on the Resource Usage page differ from the data on the Tasks page for the same time period?

The time period on the Resource Usage page aligns with your bill and is based on the job completion time. In contrast, the time shown on the Tasks page is the job creation time. If a job is submitted near midnight, is queued for a long time, or was previously paused, its creation and completion can occur on different days. This can cause data discrepancies between the two pages for the same day.

What do I do if I cannot find the entry to the legacy Media Transcoding (MTS) console?

The legacy Media Transcoding (MTS) console was deprecated after the console upgrade in July 2023. The related features have been migrated to the current MPS console:

• To query resource usage, log on to the MPS console, and in the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Usage Query > Resource Usage.

• To submit transcoding jobs, click Tasks in the left-side navigation pane.

• To orchestrate workflows, click Tasks in the left-side navigation pane, or go directly to the workflow list page.
