This topic describes how to manage and use cloud-native gateways. It covers creating a gateway, managing a Server Load Balancer (SLB) Ingress, modifying gateway parameters, setting security group rules, and enabling Tracing Analysis.

Create a cloud-native gateway

You can create a cloud-native gateway instance. For more information, see Create a cloud-native gateway.

View gateway details

After a cloud-native gateway is created, you can view its Basic Information, Ingresses, and Security Group Authorization. For more information, see View gateway details.

View gateway monitoring data

MSE cloud-native gateways allow you to view gateway monitoring data, such as log analysis, global dashboards, resource monitoring, and top business lists. For more information, see View gateway monitoring data.

Manage gateway ingress SLB instances

Cloud-native gateways use Alibaba Cloud Server Load Balancer (SLB) to distribute requests and manage traffic. You can associate one or more public or private SLB instances with a gateway instance. For more information, see Manage gateway ingress SLB instances.

Migrate a CLB instance

You can gradually migrate a certain percentage of traffic from other types of gateways to an MSE cloud-native gateway. For more information, see Migrate a CLB instance.

Modify gateway parameters

You can adjust the parameters of cloud-native gateways to improve network performance, reliability, and security, and to ensure stable network operations and a positive user experience. For more information, see Modify gateway parameters.

Enable auto scaling for gateways

Cloud-native gateways provide an auto scaling feature that automatically adjusts resources. It scales container instances in or out to adapt to traffic changes. For more information, see Configure gateway auto scaling.

Configure security group rules

If your cloud-native gateway and the node where your backend service is deployed belong to different security groups, you can configure a security group rule to grant the cloud-native gateway permission to access the backend service. For more information, see Configure security group rules.

Enable log delivery for a gateway

Log delivery is a feature that integrates cloud-native gateways with Alibaba Cloud Simple Log Service (SLS). After you enable log delivery, you can analyze the access logs of the gateway to understand client behavior and geographic distribution for troubleshooting. For more information, see Enable log delivery for a gateway.

Enable Tracing Analysis for a gateway

MSE cloud-native gateways integrate with Alibaba Cloud Managed Service for OpenTelemetry and SkyWalking to help you analyze and diagnose performance bottlenecks in distributed application architectures and improve development and diagnostic efficiency for microservices. For more information, see Enable Tracing Analysis for a gateway.

Enable Web Application Firewall

Cloud-native gateways are deeply integrated with Alibaba Cloud Web Application Firewall (WAF) 3.0 and support protection at both the instance and routing levels. For more information, see Enable Web Application Firewall.

Use PTS to stress test a gateway

Performance Testing Service (PTS) tests the concurrent performance and load capacity of a system. You can use the stress testing entry point in the MSE cloud-native gateway to automatically create stress testing scenarios. For more information, see Use PTS to stress test a gateway.
