Resource plan deduction rules

Updated at:

This topic describes the deduction rules and order for File Storage NAS resource plans.

Effective and deduction time

Resource plans take effect immediately after purchase. Deductions are reflected on the pay-as-you-go bills generated after the purchase.

For example, if you purchase a 1 TiB Extreme NAS resource plan with a one-month validity period at 10:30:30 on August 12, 2021, the deduction is applied at approximately 14:00:00. At this time, the system generates the pay-as-you-go bill for the 10:00:00 to 11:00:00 period, and the resource plan deducts the fees for the provisioned capacity of your Extreme NAS file system during that hour.

Resource plan deduction order

If you purchase multiple resource plans of the same type, they are used for deductions in the following order:

  • Plans that expire sooner are used first. If plans have the same expiration time, the one purchased earlier is used first.

For example, you purchase three General-purpose NAS resource plans in the China (Hangzhou) region: Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C. Plan C expires before Plans A and B. Plans A and B have the same expiration time, but Plan A was purchased before Plan B. Based on these rules, the deduction order is C, A, and then B.

  • After the capacity of all resource plans of the same type is exhausted, any remaining usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Note

If your account has resource plans, Storage Capacity Units (SCUs), and storage plans, the storage capacity of your file systems is deducted in the order shown in the following figure.Deduction order

Deduction limits

  • NAS resource plans can be used only for the NAS service. They cannot be used for deductions across different products.

  • A resource plan of a specific type can be used only to deduct the capacity fees for the corresponding file system type. It does not cover all fees. For the billable items and offset factors for each resource plan, see the following table.

    Resource plan type

    Deductible billable items

    Deduction description

    General-purpose NAS resource plan

Deducts fees for the following General-purpose NAS billable items:

    • General-purpose storage (Storage-optimized / Advanced / Performance-optimized)

    • Infrequent Access storage capacity

    • Archive Storage capacity

A General-purpose NAS resource plan is used to offset the storage usage of General-purpose NAS file systems in a bucket. For the offset factors for the storage usage of General-purpose NAS file systems (Capacity, Premium, and Performance), the IA storage class, and the Archive storage class, see the Apsara File Storage NAS Pricing page.

    Extreme NAS resource plan

    Provisioned capacity of Extreme NAS

Extreme NAS resource plans offset only the provisioned capacity of Extreme NAS file systems. For the offset factors for the provisioned capacity of each storage class, see the Apsara File Storage NAS Pricing page.

    CPFS resource plan

    Provisioned capacity of CPFS

CPFS resource plans only deduct the provisioned capacity of CPFS file systems. For the offset factors for the provisioned capacity of each storage class, see the File Storage NAS Pricing page.

  • Region-specific resource plans can be used to deduct usage fees for resources only within the specified region. They cannot be used across regions.

For example, a resource plan purchased for the China (Hangzhou) region can be used to deduct usage fees only for resources in the China (Hangzhou) region. It cannot be used for resources in other regions.

  • If a resource plan expires or its capacity is exhausted, any remaining usage is automatically billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
