If you no longer need a NAS file system, you can delete it to avoid further charges.
Deleting a file system is irreversible. All data in the file system is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Before you proceed, confirm that you no longer need the data. If you still need the data, migrate it to another location first. For more information about data migration, see Data migration.
Prerequisites
-
If you are a RAM user, ensure that you have full control permissions for the file system. For more information, see Example 1: Grant permissions on a file system to a RAM user.
-
The file system must be unmounted. For more information, see Unmount a file system.
Precautions
You cannot delete a subscription Extreme NAS instance in the console or by calling an API. To delete a subscription Extreme NAS instance, go to the Unsubscribe page and unsubscribe from the instance based on its status. For more information, see Unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS instance.
Procedure
-
Log on to the NAS console.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
-

Note-
You do not need to delete a permission group when you delete a file system. If you need to delete a custom permission group, see Manage permission groups.
-
The default permission group cannot be deleted or modified.
After the file system instance is deleted, you will no longer be charged for it starting from the next billing cycle.

FAQ
How do I deactivate NAS or stop being charged for NAS?
The shutdown feature for the NAS service is temporarily unavailable to prevent disruptions to your business. However, you can use the following methods to shut down the NAS service or stop billing for it.
Pay-as-you-go
If you no longer need to use a pay-as-you-go NAS file system, make sure that the data has been migrated or is no longer used. Then, unmount the directory from the compute node, log on to the NAS console, and delete the file system from the file system list. This way, no fee is deducted in the next billing cycle. For more information about how to delete a file system, see Delete a file system.
NoteIf the files that you store in a General-purpose NAS file system have not been accessed for more than 14 days but you still want to retain the files, we recommend that you enable the lifecycle management feature to dump the files to the IA or Archive storage class. This way, you can reduce the costs by 50% to 80%.
For more information about how to switch storage classes using the lifecycle management feature, see Configure lifecycle policies.
Subscription
You cannot delete a subscription Extreme NAS file system using the console or by calling API operations. For information about how to delete a subscription Extreme NAS file system, see Unsubscribe from a subscription Extreme NAS file system. If you unsubscribe from a file system, the data stored in the file system is directly deleted. Before you unsubscribe from a file system, make sure that the data has been migrated or is no longer used.
Storage plan
For a General-purpose NAS file system to which a storage plan has been attached, you cannot manually detach the storage plan. You can detach the storage plan only by deleting the related General-purpose NAS file system. For information about how to replace a storage plan with a resource plan, see How do I replace a storage plan with a resource plan?
资源包
对于使用资源包进行抵扣存储容量费用的文件系统,如果您不需要使用资源包抵扣文件系统存储容量,您可以根据退订规则退订已购买的资源包实例。更多信息,请参见退订NAS资源包实例。
Billing after deleting a file system
