Mount targets are VPC endpoints for ECS instances to access NAS file systems.
Prerequisites
A file system is created. For more information, see Create a file system.
Limits
To request additional mount targets, submit a ticket.
-
General-purpose NAS file system
Each file system supports up to two mount targets.
NoteSince November 21, 2022, new classic network mount targets cannot be created for General-purpose NAS file systems. Existing ones remain functional.
-
Extreme NAS file system
-
File systems created before January 19, 2024: one mount target.
-
File systems created on or after January 19, 2024: up to two mount targets.
-
Create a mount target
Create a mount target for ECS instances to access your NAS file system.
-
Log on to the NAS console.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
-
In the top navigation bar, select the resource group and region where your file system resides.

-
On the File System List page, find the target file system and click Add Mount Target in the Actions column.
-
In the Add Mount Target dialog box, set the following parameters.
Note-
ECS instances on different vSwitches in the same VPC can share one VPC mount target.
-
Each mount target uses one private IP address. Select a vSwitch with available IPs.
-
IPv6 is supported only for Extreme NAS in select regions. Create a VPC with an IPv6 CIDR block before enabling IPv6. For more information, see Create a VPC with an IPv6 CIDR block.
Parameter
Description
VPC Network
Select a VPC. If none exists, create one in the VPC console.
ECS instances in different VPCs within the same account and region can access the file system. Create a mount target per VPC (within quota), or use Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) for cross-VPC access when the quota is reached. Mount a NAS file system across VPCs in the same region using CEN.
vSwitch
Select a vSwitch in the VPC.
Permission Group
Select a permission group.
A default VPC permission group allows all VPC IP addresses to access the file system. Create custom groups in Manage permission groups.
Enable IPv6
Enable IPv6.
The Enable IPv6 switch is available only for Extreme NAS in IPv6-supported regions with an IPv6-enabled VPC and vSwitch. For more information about how to create a VPC with an IPv6 CIDR block, see Create a VPC with an IPv6 CIDR block.
