Monitor metrics

Updated at:

This topic describes how to monitor metrics in Node.js Performance Platform.

Go to the application console. Click the Instance button for the desired application. This opens the instance page where you can view the various metrics provided by Node.js Performance Platform.

Overview

The top navigation bar displays general server information. The following sections describe each item.

Process data

Process time to live timeline

The process time to live timeline displays basic information about the process startup, as shown in the following figure:

Abnormal restarts are clearly visible in this section.

Process metrics distribution

This section displays a graph of the relationship between CPU & RSS and the QPS & GC ratio, as shown in the following figure:

View kernel data for the current process

You can click the Data Trend button on the left to view kernel analysis data for the current process, as shown in the following figure:

This section provides a detailed and intuitive view of the process health. For example, if the in-heap memory value in the overall heap information section is very high, a memory leak has likely occurred.

Scrape performance data for analysis

You can click the Heap Snapshot, Heap Timeline, CPU Profile, or GC Trace button on the left to scrape performance data. The data files are saved and can be analyzed in the Files section of the navigation bar on the right. For more information, see Troubleshooting.

System data monitoring

This section displays general information and metrics for the server system, as shown in the following figure:

Abnormal logs

This section displays organized error logs. These logs correspond to the error_log property that you configured for agenthub in Deploy runtime and agenthub, as shown in the following figure:

Slow HTTP logs

This section displays information about slow HTTP requests in your web application.

Module dependencies

This section displays the modules that your project depends on. If a version has a security risk, a corresponding alert is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
