What is QPS

QPS (Queries Per Second) is the number of requests or tasks per second. The formula is: QPS = Concurrency / Average response time. Concurrency is the number of requests or tasks that a system can process simultaneously. For example, if the average response time for the ID card recognition API is 500 ms and you have a concurrency of 4, the required QPS is 4 / 0.5 = 8. If you do not plan to use the full concurrency, adjust the concurrency value in the formula to calculate your required QPS.

Billing information

• The OCR API service includes a default concurrency of 10 QPS. You can purchase QPS add-on packages to increase the API concurrency.

• QPS add-on packages are supported for the following APIs: ID Card Recognition, General Text Recognition, and Advanced Full-text Recognition. You can purchase these packages on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis.

• Purchase limits: Add-on packages are available starting from 10 QPS. The maximum number of QPS that you can purchase online is 100 per API per day. To request a higher QPS limit, you can submit a ticket or contact us through DingTalk group 35208328.

• Effective date: A purchase made before 12:00 on a business day takes effect at 00:00 on the following day. A purchase made at any other time takes effect at 00:00 one business day later. For example:

  • A purchase made before 12:00 on a Thursday takes effect at 00:00 on Friday. A purchase made at 12:01 on a Thursday takes effect at 00:00 on Saturday.

  • A purchase made before 12:00 on a Friday takes effect at 00:00 on Saturday. A purchase made at 12:01 on a Friday takes effect at 00:00 on the following Tuesday.
