This document describes how to configure notification subscriptions.

Add a notification subscription

Prerequisite: The service or the escalation rule that you want to subscribe to has been created.

  1. Log on to the O&M Event Center console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Policy Center > Notification Subscriptions.

  3. Click Add Notification Subscription to open the Add Notification Subscription configuration page.

  4. On the Add Notification Subscription page, set Subscription Name, Subscription Scope, Notification Recipient, and Subscription Period.

Subscription settings

  1. Subscription Name: Enter a name for the subscription. The name can contain up to 64 characters and cannot be empty.

  2. Subscription Scope: You can subscribe at three levels: All Services, Service, or Escalation Rule. Fuzzy matching is supported for the scope. You can add up to 50 scopes.

  3. Notification Recipient: Select one of the following recipient types: Individual, Service Group, or On-duty Person in Service Group.

    • Individual: Enter a name to perform a fuzzy search. The search box displays up to 10 results. You can add up to 50 individual recipients.

    • Service Group: Enter a group name to perform a fuzzy search. The search box displays up to 10 results. You can add up to 50 service groups.

    • On-duty Person in Service Group: The recipient is the on-duty person for the specified Service Group. Enter a service group name to perform a fuzzy search.

  4. Subscription Period: Choose between long-term and short-term. The default is long-term. You can customize the effective period as needed.

If you select long-term, the subscription takes effect immediately after it is created. If you select short-term, you can configure a custom effective period. The subscription takes effect at the specified start time.

Configure a notification policy

  1. Notification Type: A subscription can support three types of notifications: Alert Notification, Event Notification, and Incident Notification.

  2. For Alert Notification subscriptions, select priorities from P1, P2, P3, and P4. You can configure up to four subscription conditions.

  3. For Event Notification subscriptions, select the priority (P1, P2, P3, or P4) and impact level (High or Low). You can configure up to eight conditions.

  4. For Incident Notification subscriptions, the conditions are the same as for event notifications.

  5. Notification Channel: The available Notification Channel options vary based on the Notification Recipient type.

    • When the Notification Recipient is an Individual, the available Notification Channels are: Phone, Text Message, and Email.

    • When the Notification Recipient is a Service Group, the available Notification Channels are: Phone, Text Message, Email, and Group Notification (DingTalk group, WeChat group).

  6. You can configure different subscription rules for different time periods. You can set different notification policies for all time, workdays, and non-workdays. Configure these periods as needed. The following are some examples.

    • All Time: For all alerts, events, and incidents, regardless of priority or impact level, you can set up group notifications to ensure all events are announced.

    • Workdays: For high-priority P1 alerts or events, you can add phone notifications. This ensures the handler receives both a group notification and a phone call, so that high-priority events are not missed and are handled promptly.

    • Non-workdays: For high-priority events, such as P1 and P2, add phone and email notifications for more prominent alerts. For lower-priority events, such as P3 and P4, add email notifications so they can be reviewed during workdays. This prevents important notifications from being missed in busy group chats.

List query

You can query for subscriptions by Subscription Name, Subscription Scope, or Notification Recipient. You can use a single condition for your query.

Edit

On the Notification Subscriptions page, click Edit in the Actions column to modify a subscription. Subscription names must be unique.

Enable/Disable
