This document describes how to verify that a forwarding rule can trigger alerts, events, and incident responses, and send notifications to specified recipients.
How to verify stream rules
In the navigation pane on the left of the Operations Event Center, choose to go to the Forwarding Rules page. You can then create a new rule or verify an existing one.
Create and submit a rule. After you submit the rule, you are redirected to the rule details page. Alternatively, you can click a rule name in the rule list to open its details page.
On the rule details page, find the monitoring source and click Record Alert in the Actions column. Enter the raw alert that you want to verify. Refer to the alert example for the monitoring source for the alert content.
Add an alert:
Click Manual Verification to complete the verification. Ensure that the forwarding rule and its associated notification subscriptions and upgrade policies are configured correctly. If an alert meets the trigger conditions of the rule, notifications for the triggered alert, event, or incident response are sent to the default assignees, subscribed objects, and upgrade policy objects.
