This topic describes what an event is.
Definition
An alert from a monitoring source is distributed based on a rule. If the rule's trigger type is set to event, the record is classified as an event.
Events have a higher priority than alerts. They are assigned to a specific owner for follow-up, resolution, and archiving.
Events manage tasks that are automatically triggered by rules or manually created. In O&M Event Hub, events support flexible workflows. This helps prioritize the response and resolution of critical events, which improves the Mean Time To Acknowledge (MTTA) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). You can also upgrade an escalating event to an incident with a single click. This provides end-to-end management for the entire event lifecycle.
Core features
Core features include flexible workflows, event prioritization, and full lifecycle tracking.
Flexible workflows: The event owner can respond to an event, change its owner, upgrade it to an incident, and resolve it.
Event prioritization: You can set the priority of an event from P1 to P4 and its impact as high or low based on its scope and importance. This ensures that critical events are responded to and resolved first.
Full lifecycle tracking: Changes throughout the event lifecycle are dynamically recorded. You can view each stage of the event workflow to promptly locate and handle issues. This improves the efficiency of task processing.
