Unsubscription options for OpenSearch - Industry Algorithm Edition depend on the billing method.

Billing method

Description

Subscription

You cannot unsubscribe after the first five days. If you no longer want the service, let the subscription expire. The system automatically releases the instance at the end of the billing cycle.
Within the first five days, you can contact customer service to request an early unsubscription and refund.

The refund amount is calculated as follows: Refund amount = Actual amount paid - Cost of consumed resources. For more information, see the Alibaba Cloud Refund Rules.

Pay-as-you-go

For a pay-as-you-go instance, billing occurs in real time based on actual usage. To stop billing, you can release the instance. If your account balance is insufficient, the instance is suspended. The system then automatically releases it after seven days.

Important

Data is unrecoverable after an instance is released. After an instance is released, the default workspace cannot be manually deleted. Workspace-related resources are automatically cleaned up after the instance is released.

Disable auto-renewal

To disable auto-renewal, follow these steps:

Go to the console, click Billing, then choose Renewal.
On the Auto-renewal tab, find the instance and click Disable Renewal.

Important
For a subscription instance, from day one to day seven after the expiration date, the instance is suspended. If you renew the subscription during this period, the instance is immediately restored. On day eight after expiration, the system automatically releases the instance. All data is permanently deleted and is unrecoverable.

How do I release an OpenSearch instance?

Go to the OpenSearch - Industry Algorithm Edition console.
In the instance list, find the target instance. In the Operation column, click the icon, and then select Delete.
In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

How is API calling billed?

API calls are billed based on actual usage. No charges are incurred if no API calls are made. If API charges continue to accrue after you stop using OpenSearch, check whether any applications are still calling the OpenSearch API.
