After application data is reported to Managed Service for OpenTelemetry, Managed Service for OpenTelemetry starts to monitor all aspects of your application. On the Application Overview page, you can quickly view key application performance metrics and use the application topology graph to see your application's upstream and downstream dependencies.
Access the feature
-
Log on to the Managed Service for OpenTelemetry console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Applications.
-
On the Applications page, select a region in the top navigation bar and click the name of the application.
On the Application Overview page, you can view the key performance metrics and topology graph for the application.
View key performance metrics for an application
On the Application Overview page, click the Overview Analysis tab to view the following key performance metrics:
The total number of requests, average response time, number of exceptions, and number of spans within the selected time range. You can also view the week-over-week and day-over-day changes for these metrics.
Time series curves for the number of calls and the time consumed when the application is called by upstream services or when it calls downstream services.
The 10 slowest interfaces and their average response time series curves.

View the application topology graph
On the Application Overview page, click the Topology tab to view a graph of your application's upstream and downstream components and their call relationships. This graph helps you quickly identify performance bottlenecks.
The Topology tab displays the following information:
The application's call topology graph for the selected time range.
The number of calls, average response time, and error rate for client-side, server-side, and internal calls within the selected time range.
Time series charts for the number of requests, response time, and error rate per minute within the selected time range.

Specify a time range
You can select a predefined time range or specify a custom time range.
-
In the upper-right corner of the page, click the date and time picker and select a predefined time range, such as Last 30 Minutes, Today, or This Week.
-
If no predefined time ranges meet your business requirements, select Custom. Select a start time and an end time in the calendar or enter a start time and an end time, and then click OK.
