You can use the OSS billable item detection tool to understand usage data for your OSS resources. The tool also recommends resource plans to help you reduce costs.

Background

If you use multiple OSS features, you may incur various fees. For example, storing text, images, or audio and video files in OSS generates storage fees. Browsing or downloading files from OSS over the Internet generates egress traffic fees. For more information about OSS billable items, see the billing overview.

The OSS billable item detection tool centralizes usage data for storage, requests, traffic, and transfer acceleration.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the OSS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Usage > Billing Item Detection.

  3. On the billable item detection page, you can view some billable items from your OSS usage for a specific region or all regions over the last 3 or 7 days.

    Important
    • To use billable item detection as a RAM user, you must have the AliyunCloudMonitorReadOnlyAccess and AliyunBSSFullAccess permissions. For more information, see Manage the permissions of a RAM user.

    • The usage and fee data on this page are estimates only and do not constitute your final bill. The fee information is not real-time due to billing delays.

For example, assume that you have incurred Standard (LRS) storage fees in five regions under your account. In the China (Shanghai) and China (Beijing) regions, you incur fees because your usage exceeds the quota of your resource plan. In this case, we recommend that you upgrade the resource plan. If you incur fees for other reasons, you can click View Usage by Region to check usage details and see recommended actions.

FAQ

Why are detected fees not on my bill?

Cause: If you have linked accounts and the tool indicates that you have incurred fees, do not rely only on the reasons provided by billable item detection. The actual fees may be billed to the linked account.

Solution: Check the billing details of the associated account.
