ossbrowser 1.0 is a free graphical desktop client for managing Object Storage Service (OSS) resources. This client supports Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, providing an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) for users to efficiently perform operations such as uploading, downloading, and deleting objects. As a locally deployed application, ossbrowser 1.0 runs directly on your device, ensuring smooth operations.
Version upgrade
We recommend that you use the newly upgraded ossbrowser 2.0. For quick installation and usage, see Install ossbrowser 2.0.
Key features of ossbrowser 2.0:
-
New visual interaction experience: The page design is attractive and concise, making all feature operations more convenient and efficient.
-
Multiple login methods: New login options include scanning QR codes with Alibaba Cloud APP, Alipay, and DingTalk. You can also manually enter Alibaba Cloud or RAM user account credentials, or log in using a verification code sent to your phone number.
-
File preview and editing: When previewing text files, you can view text files up to 100 MB in size and edit them directly during preview.
-
File download performance: Download performance is optimized when using internal same-region endpoints.
Limitation
When uploading or downloading objects larger than 10 GB over the Internet, the transfer may fail due to unstable network conditions. If you are not in an internal network environment and need to transfer files larger than 10 GB, we recommend that you use command line tool ossutil 2.0.

Billing
The ossbrowser software itself is free, but operations performed through ossbrowser follow the same billing logic as operations performed in the console, and corresponding fees are charged according to OSS billing rules. For example:
-
Uploading and downloading files in a local environment: When you use ossbrowser to upload and download files in a local environment, PUT request fees, GET request fees, and outbound traffic fees are incurred. After files are uploaded to OSS, storage fees are charged based on the storage class.
-
Uploading and downloading files in an internal network environment: When you use ossbrowser to upload and download files in an Alibaba Cloud internal network environment, only PUT and GET request fees and file storage fees are incurred. No traffic fees are charged. For example, you can create an ECS instance and install ossbrowser on it to upload and download files within the Alibaba Cloud internal network.
Additionally, using the transfer acceleration service incurs transfer acceleration fees. For more information about other OSS value-added fees, see Value-added billable items.
