This topic describes the causes of Object Storage Service (OSS) overdue payments, service suspension, and how to view overdue payments.
Causes
You have not purchased resource plans and the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account is insufficient.
You have purchased resource plans, but the resource plans cannot offset all fees. For more information about the causes of overdue payments, see Received an unexpected bill? Why your resource plan might not cover all fees
Service suspension
You are notified if OSS is about to be suspended due to an overdue payment. To prevent negative impacts on your business, we recommend that you top up the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account at the earliest opportunity.
The service status changes after OSS incurs overdue fees are as follows:
If the overdue amount is within the deferred suspension limit, your service will not be affected by suspension.
NoteAlibaba Cloud provides deferred suspension benefits. When pay-as-you-go resources incur overdue fees, you can continue to use cloud services within a certain limit or for a certain period. Normal billing continues during the deferred suspension period. The deferred suspension limit is not the upper limit of total overdue fees. Your deferred suspension limit or duration is automatically calculated and updated monthly based on factors such as your historical consumption on Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see Deferred Suspension Benefits.
If your account already has overdue fees or exceeds the deferred suspension limit, the service will automatically stop. To avoid affecting your business operations, please top up your account as soon as possible.
After OSS service automatically stops due to overdue fees or exceeding the deferred suspension limit, the Bucket list in the OSS console will be invisible. However, the Bucket resources you occupy will continue to incur charges, so overdue fees will accumulate.
If you top up your account to cover the overdue payment within 15 days after OSS service suspension, OSS service will automatically resume.
If you do not cover the overdue payment within 15 days after OSS service suspension, it will be considered that you voluntarily abandon OSS storage service. Alibaba Cloud will terminate the service terms for this product and stop providing services to you. All data you saved on Alibaba Cloud will be cleaned and deleted, and the data cannot be recovered after cleanup. Billing will stop before data cleanup.
ImportantIf overdue payment is not covered within 15 days after service suspension due to overdue fees (i.e., account balance is less than 0), all data saved on Alibaba Cloud will be cleaned and deleted, and the data cannot be recovered after cleanup, regardless of whether you have purchased resource packages or whether resource packages are within the validity period.
Query overdue payments
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.
In the Overview section of the Homepage, view the overdue amount.
