Problem description

The XML request body of the PutBucketLifecycle request contains a node that is not supported.

Causes

You sent a PutBucketLifecycle request that is compatible with Amazon S3. However, the request body contains the unsupported NoncurrentVersionTransition node, which results in an error.

Examples

The following example shows an Amazon S3-compatible PutBucketLifecycle request that contains the unsupported NoncurrentVersionTransition node.

PUT /?lifecycle HTTP/1.1
Host: oss-example.oss-cn-hangzhou.aliyuncs.com
Content-Length: 336
Date: Mon , 6 May 2019 15:23:20 GMT
Authorization: AWS LTAI****************:Phuu***************
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<LifecycleConfiguration>
  <Rule>
    <ID>rule</ID>
    ......
    <NoncurrentVersionTransition>
         ......
    </NoncurrentVersionTransition>
 	</Rule>
 </LifecycleConfiguration>

Solutions

  • Ensure that the XML request body of a PutBucketLifecycle request compatible with Amazon S3 is in a valid format.

    The following section provides an example of a valid request:

    PUT /?lifecycle HTTP/1.1
    Host: oss-example.oss-cn-hangzhou.aliyuncs.com
    Content-Length: 336
    Date: Mon , 6 May 2019 15:23:20 GMT
    Authorization: AWS LTAI****************:Phuu***************
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <LifecycleConfiguration>
      <Rule>
        <ID>RuleID</ID>
        <Prefix>Prefix</Prefix>
        <Status>Status</Status>
        <Expiration>
          <Days>Days</Days>
        </Expiration>
        <Transition>
          <Days>Days</Days>
          <StorageClass>StorageClass</StorageClass>
        </Transition>
        <AbortMultipartUpload>
          <Days>Days</Days>
        </AbortMultipartUpload>
      </Rule>
    </LifecycleConfiguration>
  • You can send the request using an SDK that is compatible with Amazon S3.

  • You can configure lifecycle rules in the OSS Management Console without having to manually construct request bodies.
