Problem description

In the XML request body of a PutBucketLifecycle request, the value specified for the StorageClass child node in the NoncurrentVersionTransition node is invalid.

Causes

The cause might be one of the following:

  • In the PutBucketLifecycle request configuration, the value of the StorageClass child node in the NoncurrentVersionTransition node is not a valid storage class. Valid values are IA, Archive, and ColdArchive.

  • In the PutBucketLifecycle request configuration, the value of the StorageClass child node in the NoncurrentVersionTransition node is a valid storage class, but the specified storage class is not supported by the lifecycle rule or in the current region.

Example problems

In the following XML request body, the value of the StorageClass child node in the NoncurrentVersionTransition node is ColdArchive. Although ColdArchive is a valid storage class, it is not supported by the lifecycle rule or in the current region.

PUT /?lifecycle HTTP/1.1
Host: oss-example.oss.aliyuncs.com
Content-Length: 336
Date: Mon , 6 May 2019 15:23:20 GMT
Authorization: OSS qn6q**************:77Dv****************
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<LifecycleConfiguration>
  <Rule>
    <ID>rule7</ID>
    <Prefix>xxx</Prefix>
    <Status>Enabled</Status>
    <NoncurrentVersionTransition>
    	<NoncurrentDays>200</NoncurrentDays>
    	<StorageClass>ColdArchive</StorageClass>
    </NoncurrentVersionTransition>
  </Rule>
</LifecycleConfiguration>

Solutions

  • Change the value of the StorageClass child node in the NoncurrentVersionTransition node to IA.

  • Configure lifecycle rules in the OSS console to avoid manually constructing request bodies.
