Problem description

When you use a browser to access an object through an OSS acceleration endpoint, the browser downloads the object instead of previewing it.

Cause

If transfer acceleration was enabled for a bucket after 00:00 on January 16, 2021, OSS adds the following two headers to the response when you use an OSS acceleration endpoint to access any object:

x-oss-force-download: true
Content-Disposition: attachment

When a browser receives the Content-Disposition: attachment header, it downloads the object instead of previewing it.

Sample problems

For example, consider an object named test in a bucket where transfer acceleration was enabled after 00:00 on January 16, 2021. When you access this object in a browser using the OSS acceleration endpoint, OSS adds the preceding two headers to the response. The Content-Disposition: attachment header causes the browser to download the object instead of previewing it.

GET /test HTTP/1.1
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Disposition: attachment
x-oss-force-download: true

Solution

To prevent OSS from returning headers that force a download, you can use a custom domain name to access the object. For more information, see Map custom domain names.
