AI computing resource group

If the computing power nodes in an AI computing resource group expire and are not renewed, or if the renewal fails, the related features become unavailable.

• If you successfully renew the nodes within one calendar day (24 hours) of expiration, the computing resources are automatically restored.

• If you do not renew the nodes within one calendar day (24 hours) after expiration, the computing resources are released. Related tasks are suspended and you will be unable to perform further operations.

Data Science Workshop (DSW)

DSW instances are billed hourly. You typically receive a bill two to three hours after use.

• When a payment becomes overdue, DSW instances are immediately stopped. You will receive a notification to the mobile phone number registered with your account.

• If a payment remains overdue for more than seven days, the DSW instances are automatically released. To avoid business interruptions, please renew your instances promptly.

Deep Learning Containers (DLC)

DLC jobs created using public resources are billed hourly on a pay-as-you-go basis. If your account has an overdue payment, DLC jobs are stopped, and you will receive a notification to the mobile phone number registered with your account.

Elastic Algorithm Service (EAS)

• Subscription resource group machines

  If a machine in a resource group expires and is not renewed, or if renewal fails, its status changes to Stopped. The status of EAS services running on the machine then changes to Waiting.

  If you successfully renew the machine within 15 calendar days (360 hours) of expiration, the dedicated resource group automatically recovers the stopped machine.

  If the machine is not renewed for more than 15 calendar days (360 hours) after expiration, the system releases the stopped machine.

• Pay-as-you-go resource groups (including pay-as-you-go machines and public resource groups)

  If your payment is overdue but is within the quota for service suspension protection, your resource group continues to provide services.

  Note

  Alibaba Cloud provides service suspension protection. This feature allows you to continue using pay-as-you-go cloud services for a specific period or within a certain quota after your payment becomes overdue. Billing continues as normal during this period. The quota for service suspension protection is not an upper limit on your total overdue payment amount. Your quota and the protection period are automatically calculated and updated each month based on factors such as your historical consumption on Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see Service suspension protection.

  If your overdue payment exceeds the quota for service suspension protection, the public resource group stops providing services. Pay-as-you-go machines are stopped, and the status of EAS services that run on them changes to Waiting.

  If you top up your account and settle the bill within 15 calendar days (15 x 24=360 hours) from the date the payment becomes overdue, you can resume using the resource group, and your data is retained. If the bill is not settled within 15 calendar days (15 x 24=360 hours), the system releases the stopped machines.

Machine Learning Designer/Dataset Accelerator

• PAI generates bills on a T+1 basis. Bills are typically issued within four hours after the current billing cycle ends. When a payment becomes overdue, you will receive a notification to the mobile phone number registered with your account.

• After a payment becomes overdue, PAI services remain available for 24 hours. If the payment remains overdue for more than 24 hours, the services are suspended, and you can no longer use the related features.

FeatureStore

After a payment becomes overdue, writes to the FeatureDB data source are immediately blocked. If the payment remains overdue for more than three days, reads are also blocked.

Data in the FeatureDB data source is automatically released when its configured lifecycle expires.

Scenario-based solutions

Resource plans and trial quotas

• When your PAI trial quota is used up, you will receive an SMS notification and an in-site message. You can view the notification in the Message Center.

• The free trial for Data Science Workshop (DSW) does not support advance warning SMS notifications. Check your trial progress in the Trial Center. When the trial ends, the DSW instance automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go billing method.

• If you no longer need a DSW instance, back up your data and delete the instance to stop billing. If you expanded the system disk when you created the instance, billing continues regardless of whether the instance is running. You must delete the instance to stop billing completely.
