Manage numbers
After you purchase privacy numbers, you can query, attach, and release them on the Manage Numbers page.
Prerequisites
You have purchased privacy numbers.
Query numbers
Log on to the Phone Number Protection console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Numbers & Number Pools > Manage Numbers.
On the Manage Numbers page, you can query privacy numbers, locations, and number statuses by range or by number.
Attach numbers
Attach a number: On the Manage Numbers page, locate the desired privacy number and click Attach in the Binding Information column.
Release a number: Click Release. Once released, a number cannot be used or recovered.
Lock a number: Click Lock to temporarily block an abnormal number. This prevents the number from being used for new bindings.
To detach a number: Click Details. On the Number Details page, click Detach.
Replace numbers
On the Number Replacement page, you can view replacement requests, number details, and execution records.
Replacement requests are initiated by Alibaba Cloud Communications. You must confirm each request within the specified time period.
If you do not confirm a mandatory replacement request in time, the system forcibly releases the number after the notification period expires. For non-mandatory replacements, if you do not confirm the request, you can continue to use the number but you assume all associated risks.
For non-mandatory replacements, after you confirm the replacement request, Alibaba Cloud Communications purchases a new number for you. The original number is then blocked. After all existing bindings expire, the system releases the original number.
FAQ
Q: Will a privacy number be reclaimed if it is not used for a long time?
A: No. The platform does not automatically reclaim or release a privacy number that you have already purchased due to long-term inactivity.
Due to current carrier policy control, no new number resources are available for purchase. The time when number resources will be resumed is not yet determined. We recommend that you keep an eye on official website announcements for updates.
