Phone Number Verification Service supports pay-as-you-go billing with tiered pricing and resource plans for cost savings.

Pay-as-you-go
Bills are generated and fees deducted on the first day of the following calendar month. Actual billing dates depend on the system.
Billing formula: Monthly cost = Tiered unit price × Total successful monthly usage.
Phone number verification
Covers One-click login and Local number verification. Usage is combined for billing.
Keyword mapping: Identity two-factor verification refers to the Local number verification feature. Its usage is billed together with One-click login under merged billing.
No free trial: One-click login and Local number verification do not offer a free trial resource plan. Invoking the client SDK to open the authorization page is not charged. Only a successful server-side call to the
GetMobileoperation that returns a phone number is charged. To test the feature, top up a small amount to your account balance or purchase the smallest available resource plan.

Resource plans
Resource plans reduce usage costs. Usage is first deducted from the plan quota, and excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
To purchase a resource plan or view the resource plans you have already purchased, go to the Phone Number Verification Service console.
Excess usage beyond the plan quota is billed at pay-as-you-go rates.
A resource plan is valid for 12 months and expires thereafter.
Resource plans require a positive account balance. Remaining resources in expired or fully used plans are non-refundable.
Self-service refunds are not supported. Submit a ticket for refund requests.
Alert configuration: If you are not notified when a resource plan is used up, this is usually because remaining-quota alerts have not been configured. Go to the Phone Number Verification Service console to enable this feature.
Usage refresh: After a resource plan is deducted, refresh the Billing page to see the updated remaining quota. A short delay before the deduction appears is expected behavior.
Independent quotas: The phone number verification resource plan and the SMS verification resource plan have independent quotas that cannot be shared or mixed. For example, using SMS verification does not deduct usage from your phone number verification resource plan.

What is the difference between the SMS verification resource plan and Short Message Service resource plans?
Different products: The SMS verification resource plan belongs to Phone Number Verification Service, while Short Message Service resource plans belong to Short Message Service, a separate Alibaba Cloud product.
Feature differences: SMS verification uses preset system signature templates and applies only to specific interfaces used for local number verification or verification code delivery. Short Message Service resource plans support custom signature templates for general-purpose SMS sending.
No interoperability: The quotas of the two resource plans are independent, are not shared, and cannot be converted into each other. If you purchased the wrong plan, submit a refund request and then purchase the correct plan.
Different console entry: You can view and manage your SMS verification resource plan only in the Phone Number Verification Service console. It is not available in the Short Message Service console.

Why was I charged even though I never enabled Phone Number Verification Service?
Reason: Phone Number Verification Service is a pay-as-you-go product. Fees are generated whenever you call an API operation, such as the
GetMobileoperation used to retrieve a phone number, regardless of whether you clicked an "Enable" button.How to check: Log on to the Phone Number Verification Service console. Check Usage Statistics for the specific API calls, and check Bill Details to confirm the charges.
Overdue payments
Your account becomes overdue if your available balance (including your Alibaba Cloud account balance, cash coupons, and coupons) cannot settle pending bills.
When your account becomes overdue, an SMS or email notification is sent to your registered contact information.
If your overdue amount does not exceed the service suspension protection quota, service continues without interruption. If it exceeds the quota, Alibaba Cloud suspends Phone Number Verification Service. Pay all overdue bills to resume service.
NoteAlibaba Cloud provides service suspension protection, which lets you continue using cloud services for a limited time or amount after an overdue payment occurs. Normal billing continues during the protection period. The protection quota is not a cap on your total overdue amount. Your quota or duration is calculated and updated monthly based on your historical spending. Service suspension protection for overdue payments.
After service suspension, recharge your account to clear the overdue amount. Service resumes automatically.
View overdue details and recharge in the Fee Hub. Service resumes after overdue amounts are cleared.
Renewal
Extend the validity of purchased resources through renewal. Renew expiring resources.
Refund policy
Self-service refunds are not supported. To cancel or refund a purchase, submit a ticket with the following materials:
The reason for the refund.
The order ID of the resource plan and a screenshot of the order summary.
The invoicing status of the order. If an invoice has already been issued, you must void it before requesting a refund.
The number of resource plans included in the order. If the order contains multiple resource plans, you must request a refund for the entire order.
Refund amount formula: Refund amount = Amount paid − Amount paid × (used quota / total purchased quota) × 1.2.
Restrictions: Amounts paid by using cash coupons are not refundable.
Processing time: Refunds are typically credited to your account within 1 to 2 business days.
SMS charges generated by the SMS verification Quick test feature are billed at standard rates and require a sufficient account balance. This feature is not a free trial.
