PolarDB supports three billing methods for storage: pay-as-you-go + storage plans, pay-as-you-go, and subscription. They each correspond to a set of billing rules.
Billing comparison
PolarDB charges fees for the storage capacity consumed by your clusters. For more information, see PSL4 and PSL5 and Storage capacity. The following table compares the three billing methods.

假设用户的阿里云账号中国内地区域下有多个PSL5存储类型的集群，并且所有集群的总存储用量分别恒定为10 TB和50 TB时，不同计费方式的费用如下：

场景二：阿里云账号下对应区域所有集群的总存储用量小，但业务量波动频繁
假设用户的阿里云账号中国内地区域下有多个PSL5存储类型的集群，并且各个集群的存储空间用量波动较大。假设所有集群的总存储用量波动范围为1,000 GB~4,000 GB，在一个月内，三周时间总存储用量低于3,000 GB，一周时间总存储用量高于3,000 GB。
如果采用按空间计费（包年包月）的方式，由于此方式存在满额锁盘业务中断的风险，因此需要按照预估的业务波峰4,000 GB去购买存储空间。
如果采用按容量计费（按量付费）+存储包的方式，由于此方式不存在业务中断的风险，因此按照预估的业务波峰的3/4去购买存储包（这里以购买3,000 GB的存储包来抵扣所有集群的总存储用量为例），超出部分再按容量计费（按量付费）即可。

7,800元/月（3,000 GB存储包费用）+1,000 GB×0.00486元/GB/小时×24小时×7天=8,616.48元/月
按空间计费（包年包月）
9,080元/月
此方式存在满额锁盘业务中断的风险，因此需要按照预估的业务波峰4,000 GB去购买存储空间。因此所需的总费用为：
2.27元/GB/月×4000 GB=9,080元/月

PolarDB provides the price calculator and resource plan calculator. You can use the calculators to obtain information about the product pricing, estimate costs, and select a product type that meets your business requirements.
Price calculator: allows you to estimate the overall cost based on the details and storage capacity of the cluster that you select.
Resource plan calculator: allows you to estimate required compute capacity and storage capacity based on your business requirements and usage duration. The calculator can also provide recommendations on the specifications of storage plans and compute plans for clusters with defined specifications.
