This topic describes how to create a read-only instance for a PolarDB-X 1.0 primary instance.

Considerations

  • If the primary instance contains databases, after you create the read-only instance, you must select which RDS for MySQL instances to use. For more information, see Manage instances.
  • To create a read-only instance for a primary instance that uses RDS for MySQL for storage, the primary instance must be deployed in a VPC.
  • For a primary instance that uses PolarDB for MySQL for storage, you can create a read-only instance in both a classic network and a VPC.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB-X 1.0 console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  4. Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.

  5. In the Related Instances section, click Create DRDS Read-only Instance.
  6. In the dialog box, configure the following parameters.

    VPC Select a VPC.

  7. Click Buy Now.
  8. On the Confirm Order page, verify the configuration details and select the terms of service. Then, click Pay.
Note After you complete the payment, service activation takes 1 to 5 minutes. Once the instance is created, you can view it on the Instance List page.
