Escalation policy

Updated at:

An escalation policy automatically notifies designated contacts when alerts remain unresolved. When added to a notification policy, it ensures critical issues receive timely attention.

Prerequisites

Create a contact. For more information, see Create a contact.

Create an escalation policy

  1. Log on to the Managed Service for Prometheus console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alert Management > Escalation Policies.

  3. On the Escalation Policies page, click Create Escalation Policy in the upper-right corner.

  4. In the escalation rule section, enter a name for the policy in the text box at the top.

  5. In the escalation rule section, define the trigger conditions. An escalation is triggered when an alert is not claimed or resolved within a specified period. For example, you can set a rule to escalate an alert that remains unclaimed for 10 minutes.

  6. In the escalation rule section, click Add notification target, and then select the contacts and notification methods.

Note

To add another escalation rule, click + Add Rule.

Parameter

Description

Notification target

You can specify one or more of the following notification targets: contacts, contact groups, DingTalk groups, and on-call schedules.

Supported notification methods include DingTalk, email, webhook, text message, and phone. You can select multiple methods.

Note

To receive notifications by phone, a contact must have a verified phone number. For more information, see Verify a mobile phone number.

Notification period

The system repeatedly sends notifications for matching alerts during the specified notification period.

Number of repetitions

The number of times to resend the notification. The system stops sending notifications after the alert is claimed or resolved.
