OSS data source

Updated at:

OSS data sources are typically used with data configuration nodes for scenarios that require custom performance test requests, such as simulating user logins with specific credentials.

Background

To use a file as a data source, upload a parameter file to the PTS console or OSS. The parameter file must meet the following requirements:

  • Only CSV files are supported.

    Note

Do not simply change the file extension from .xlsx to .csv. Export the file from an application such as Microsoft Excel or Apple Numbers, or generate it with a program such as Apache Commons CSV.

  • The file size is limited to 2 GB. You can upload multiple files.

  • A single row in the file cannot exceed 20,000 characters.

  • If you need to combine data from multiple files to form a parameter set, you do not need to merge them into a single file. You can use the file parameter settings in a data configuration node to combine data across files.

  • If parameters have a strict one-to-one mapping, you must place them in the same file and ensure they are correctly aligned. Each row must contain complete data for all columns to prevent empty fields, which can affect your performance test data. For example, a parameter file can contain two columns that represent the Username and Password parameters.

  2. Import the data file from OSS.

    1. Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Performance Testing > Create Scene, and then click JMeter Performance Test.

    2. On the Create JMeter Scene page, click Data Source Management at the bottom. In the panel that appears, click the OSS Data Source tab.

    3. Click Add. In the dialog box that appears, paste the copied OSS file URL, and then click OK.
