Scheduled performance tests
The scheduled performance test feature lets you run performance tests at regular intervals. This is useful for monitoring core service paths and validating system capabilities and architectural changes after iterations. You can specify the execution date, time, execution cycle, and notification method for a test. This topic describes how to configure, modify, and delete scheduled performance tests.
Prerequisites
You must create and debug a performance test scene. For more information, see Create a JMeter performance test and Debug a scene.
Limitations
Your resource package specifications determine the availability of the scheduled performance test feature and the number of scheduled tasks you can create. For more information about the specifications, see Resource package overview.
Each performance test scene supports only one scheduled task.
After you configure a scheduled task for a performance test scene, you can no longer edit the scene.
Scheduled performance test for a new scene
When creating a new performance test scene, you can configure it to run as a scheduled task. To do this, after you create the scene, select Scheduled performance test when you start the test.
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose , and then click JMeter Performance Test.
On the Scene Configuration and Pressure Configuration tabs, configure the required parameters. For more information, see Create a JMeter performance test.
In the lower-left corner of the page, click Save and Run. In the Note dialog box that appears, set Execution Cycle to Scheduled performance test and configure the related parameters.
NoteTo ensure the scheduled task runs successfully, you must debug the performance test scene before you schedule the test. For more information about how to debug a scene, see Debug a scene.
Parameter
Description
Execution Cycle
Select Scheduled performance test.
Task Name
Enter a name for the task. The name can be up to 30 characters long.
Execution Frequency
Select Run Only Once and specify the date and time, accurate to the minute.
Select Periodic Execution:
Click By Day to select one or more days to run the test.
Click By Week to select one or more days of the week to run the test.
Click Advanced to write a crontab expression to customize the execution time. For more information, see crontab expression.
NoteYou can use only one method (by day, by week, or advanced) to set the execution time.
Execution Notification Method
Select a notification method. Options include SMS, email, and DingTalk. Note: Only DingTalk is currently supported.
Click OK. The scheduled task is automatically added to the performance test calendar.
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the calendar, click the newly added scheduled performance test to preview the task.
Scheduled performance test for an existing scene
On the Scheduled Performance Test page, you can schedule a test for an existing scene by adding it to a date in the calendar.
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the calendar, click the date on which you want to run the performance test.
In the right-side panel, click Create Scheduled Task, configure the scheduled task parameters, and then click OK.

Enter a name for the task. The name can be up to 30 characters long.
Associated Scene
Select a performance test scene from the drop-down list.
NoteBefore you schedule a test, you must debug the performance test scene. Otherwise, the scene cannot be added to a scheduled task. For more information about how to debug a scene, see Debug a scene.
Execution Frequency
Click By Day to select one or more days to run the test.
Click By Week to select one or more days of the week to run the test.
Click Advanced to write a crontab expression to customize the execution time. For more information, see crontab expression.

Notification Method: Select a notification method. Options include SMS, email, and DingTalk. Note: Only DingTalk is currently supported.
NoteFor information about how to create a contact, see Manage recipients.
Force simultaneous start for multiple scenes
If you have multiple scenes scheduled for the same time, select this option to ensure they start simultaneously.
Manage scheduled tasks
In the scheduled performance test calendar, you can select a scheduled task to view, edit, or delete it.
View and edit scheduled tasks
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the scheduled performance test calendar, click a scheduled performance test to view its details in the right-side panel.
Above the calendar, click Not Scheduled This Month. In the dialog box that appears, you can view scenes that have scheduled tasks but no executions in the current month. Click a scene name to go to the scene editing page.
Delete scheduled tasks
When you delete a scheduled task, all its future recurring instances are also deleted. You cannot delete a single instance of a recurring task. However, records of completed test runs are retained in the calendar. You can delete a scheduled task in two ways:
Method 1:
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the scheduled performance test calendar, click a scheduled task (a specific entry in the calendar view).
In the upper-right corner of the page, click Delete. This action deletes the task and all its future, unexecuted instances.
Method 2:
Log on to the PTS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
