Quick BI: Purchase, upgrade, renewal, and overdue payments
This topic describes how to purchase, upgrade, and renew your Quick BI subscription, and explains the policies for overdue payments.
You have an Alibaba Cloud account and have completed real-name registration. For more information, see Create an Alibaba Cloud Account.
Starting from v6.0.3, the Alibaba Cloud International site and the China site share the same account system and support cross-site resource purchasing. You can switch the region and availability zone to select the edition you want to purchase.
The China site offers four editions: Personal Edition, Advanced Edition, Professional Edition, and Role-based Professional Edition. The Professional Edition and Role-based Professional Edition provide the same features but have different billing models. The Alibaba Cloud International site offers four editions: Personal Edition, Advanced Edition, Professional Edition, and Role-based Professional Edition. For pricing and billing details for each edition, see Quick BI billing methods - International site.

The following table describes the operations available for different account types and product editions.

The trial version provides 50 licenses of the Professional Edition by default and does not support adding more licenses.
For users who have purchased Quick BI, the Upgrade feature allows you to upgrade your edition and expand the capacity of your current edition without submitting separate requests. However, the upgrade page is not the same as the initial purchase page and varies based on your usage and purchased edition.
Initial purchase
Before you purchase a Quick BI subscription, determine the number of users you need.
A user can be a RAM user or an Alibaba Cloud account.
If both an Alibaba Cloud account and a RAM user need to use Quick BI, you must purchase a subscription for two users.
Choose an edition and the number of users based on your use case:
If you are an individual who needs to perform data analysis, purchase the Quick BI Personal Edition.
If you are an SME that requires multi-user collaboration, purchase the Quick BI Advanced Edition.
If you are a large enterprise that needs comprehensive data analysis across multiple systems and roles, purchase the Quick BI Professional Edition or Role-based Professional Edition.

Log in to the Alibaba Cloud official website with your Alibaba Cloud account.
On the Alibaba Cloud website, hover over Product Categories. Then, in the left-side navigation pane, hover over Big Data and click Quick BI Data Visualization and Analytics under Big Data Applications and Visualization.
Go to the Quick BI buy page.
On the Quick BI product details page, click Product Console.
On the Quick BI management console page, click Buy Now.
Alternatively, click Buy Now on the Quick BI product details page to go directly to the Quick BI buy page.
On the buy page, purchase options are categorized into General User Purchase and Role-based User Purchase.
General User Purchase: You can purchase the Personal Edition, Advanced Edition, or Professional Edition based on your business needs. For more information, see General user purchase.
Role-based User Purchase: This option supports only the Role-based Professional Edition. You can adjust the parameters based on your business needs. For more information, see Role-based user purchase.
Review your purchase details and click Buy Now.
On the Confirm Order page, verify your order details, select the Quick BI Service Agreement checkbox, and click Pay.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.
You can add users to your Quick BI subscription to grant them access to the purchased edition.
Subscription upgrade
Only the purchasing Alibaba Cloud account can upgrade a Quick BI subscription.
Log on to the Quick BI console.
On the homepage of the Quick BI console, hover over the profile icon in the upper-right corner and click Upgrade.
Review your purchase details and click Buy Now.
On the Confirm Order page, verify your order details, select the Quick BI Service Agreement checkbox, and click Pay.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.
Switch editions
To switch from the Advanced Edition or Professional Edition to the Role-based Professional Edition, or vice versa, you must first unsubscribe from your current subscription and then repurchase the desired edition.
Switch from Advanced Edition or Professional Edition to Role-based Professional Edition
Log in to the Alibaba Cloud console.
On the console homepage, hover over Tickets in the top navigation bar and click Submit Ticket.
On the Submit Ticket page, select Finance for the issue category. After you submit the ticket, provide the product name, instance ID, and order ID in the ticket conversation and state your reason for unsubscribing.
After unsubscribing, go to the Quick BI buy page to repurchase the Role-based Professional Edition.
Switch from Role-based Professional Edition to Advanced Edition or Professional Edition
The procedure is the same. You must unsubscribe and then repurchase.
After you unsubscribe, your data is retained for 7 days. You must repurchase a new subscription within this period.
Renewal
If you have an overdue payment, your instance may be suspended. You will receive renewal reminders to help you avoid service disruptions.
When your subscription expires, the instance is suspended and its resources are released. Your data is retained for seven days. We recommend that you repurchase a subscription within this period. Otherwise, your data is permanently deleted.

If you renew your subscription before it expires, the new validity period starts from the expiration date of the previous period.
If your subscription has expired, you cannot renew it. You must repurchase it from the Quick BI buy page.

Log on to the Quick BI console.
On the homepage of the Quick BI console, hover over the profile icon in the upper-right corner and click Renewal.
On the Renewal page, select a subscription duration and select the Service Agreement checkbox.
Confirm the price and click Buy Now to complete the renewal.

Overdue payments
If you have an overdue payment, your instance may be suspended. You will receive renewal reminders to help you avoid service disruptions.
Expiration notifications
When your subscription expires, your instance is immediately suspended, and its resources are released. Your data is retained for 7 days.
Repurchase the product to resume service.

Resource release rules
After your subscription expires, the instance resources are released immediately. Your data is retained for 7 days after the release.
You can then repurchase the product.
