You can use resource groups to organize your cloud resources based on criteria such as business units or projects.
Prerequisites
You can create a resource group using an Alibaba Cloud account or a RAM identity (a RAM user or a RAM role) that has permissions to manage resource groups.
By default, when a RAM identity creates a resource group, the RAM identity is automatically granted the AdministratorAccess permission for that resource group and becomes a resource group administrator. This allows the RAM identity to create and manage resources within the group. If you do not want this behavior, you can disable this feature. For more information, see Disable the feature that sets the creator as a resource group administrator.
Procedure
-
Sign in to the Resource Management console.
-
On the Resource Group page, click Create Resource Group.
-
Enter the Resource Group Identifier and Display Name, then click Confirm.
For example, set the Resource Group Identifier to
Project-Aand the Resource Group Name toProject A.After you complete the operation, the state of the resource group is Creating.... Wait about three seconds and click the refresh icon
. If the state changes to Available, the resource group has been created successfully.

-
After you organize your resources into groups, you can grant RAM identities permissions on specific resource groups to control which users can access which resources. For more information, see Grant a RAM identity permissions on a resource group.
