Create a resource share

Procedure

1. Log on to the Resource Management console.

2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.

3. In the top navigation bar, select the region of the resources to share.

   Important

   To share global resources such as Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) templates, you can select only the China (Shanghai) region.

4. Click Create Resource Share and configure the following settings.

   1. Configure basic information and add resources.

      Enter a name for the resource share, optionally add tags, and select resources to share.

   2. Add permissions.

      Permissions define the operations that principals can perform on shared resources. Built-in permissions appear based on the selected resource types. Select permissions as needed from the Permission library.

   3. Add principals.

      1. Select a Principal Scope.

         • All Accounts: The resource owner can share resources with any principal.

           A resource owner can share resources with any account when:

           • An Alibaba Cloud account that is not the management account or a member of a resource directory can share resources with another Alibaba Cloud account that is not the management account or a member of a resource directory.

           • The management account or a member of a resource directory can share resources with an Alibaba Cloud account that is not the management account or a member of the resource directory.

           • The management account or a member of a resource directory can share resources with all members in the resource directory, all members in a specific folder in the resource directory, or a specific member in the resource directory.

             Important

             Resource sharing across resource directories is not supported.

         • Objects Within Resource Directory: A management account or member can share resources with the entire Resource Directory, or specific folders and members within it.

      2. Select an Add Mode and add principals.

         • Add from Resource Directory

           Important

           Only available to the management account of a resource directory.

           Select principals from the resource directory.

           • Root folder: shares resources with all members in the resource directory.

           • Specific folder: shares resources with all members in the selected folder.

           • Member: shares resources only with the selected member.

         • Add Manually

           Select a principal type, enter the ID, and click Add. Available types:

           • Resource Directory: The system automatically retrieves the current resource directory ID and shares resources with all its members.

           • Folder (Organizational Unit): Enter a folder ID to share resources with all members in that folder.

           • Alibaba Cloud Account: Enter the Alibaba Cloud account ID to share with.

   4. Review your settings and click OK.
