When an SAG device's connection to Alibaba Cloud becomes unstable due to poor Internet performance, switch to a different access point to restore a stable connection.
How it works

An access point connects Smart Access Gateway (SAG) devices to Cloud Connect Network (CCN). After an SAG instance is associated with a CCN instance, its SAG devices automatically connect to the nearest access point. When needed, you can switch to a different access point.
Automatic failover: If the selected access point fails, Alibaba Cloud automatically switches to another healthy access point. After the original access point recovers, switch back to it manually if needed.
Available access points
CCN provides access points across the following countries and regions:
| Area | Access points |
|---|---|
| Chinese mainland | Xi'an, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Qingdao, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanning, Nanjing, Xiamen, Hohhot, Shijiazhuang, Chongqing, Guiyang, Kunming, Changsha, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, and Dalian |
| Outside Chinese mainland | Frankfurt, UK, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Santa Clara, Virginia, Ashburn, and Johannesburg |
Limitations
Only SAG devices and vCPE devices support access point changes.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
An SAG instance associated with a CCN instance
Access to the SAG console
Switch the access point
Log on to the SAG console.
In the top navigation bar, select the region.
On the Smart Access Gateway page, click the ID of the SAG instance.
On the Basic Info tab, click Switch next to Access Point.
In the Change Access Point dialog box, select an access point and click OK. Select an access point based on geographic proximity to your on-premises network or the network quality reported for your device. To check access point network quality before switching, use the ListAccessPointNetworkQualities API.
What's next
Use the following APIs for programmatic access point management:
ListAccessPoints: Query access points in a specific region.
UpdateSmartAGAccessPoint: Switch the access point of an SAG instance.
ListSmartAGByAccessPoint: Query SAG instances within specific access points in a region.
ListAccessPointNetworkQualities: Query the network quality of access points for an SAG device.
ProbeAccessPointNetworkQuality: Test connectivity between an SAG instance and a specified access point.
