Each SAG app instance has an enterprise code. After you create client accounts in an SAG app instance, users log on to the SAG app client with a username, password, and the enterprise code to access your internal network. This topic describes basic management tasks for enterprise codes.

Background information

An enterprise code is a 5-character string that consists of uppercase or lowercase letters and digits. Enterprise codes are either default or custom:

  • Default enterprise code: The system automatically generates a globally unique default enterprise code for each Alibaba Cloud account.

Each SAG app instance receives this default enterprise code.

  • Custom enterprise code: A globally unique code that you create manually.

    • You can bind a custom enterprise code to an SAG app instance. A custom enterprise code overrides the default enterprise code.

    • You can set a custom enterprise code as the new default enterprise code. The previous default enterprise code then becomes a custom enterprise code.

After you change the default enterprise code, all new SAG app instances receive the new default enterprise code. Existing SAG app instances keep their original enterprise code, but you can manually update them.

Create a custom enterprise code

  1. Log on to the SAG console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.
  3. On the Enterprise Codes page, click Create Enterprise Code.

  4. In the Create Enterprise Code dialog box, enter an enterprise code and click OK.

The enterprise code must be 5 characters long and include letters and digits. Letters are case-insensitive. The code must be globally unique.

Change the default enterprise code

You can set a custom enterprise code as the new default. New SAG app instances will then use this code.

Before you change the default enterprise code, ensure you have created a custom enterprise code. For more information, see Create a custom enterprise code.

  1. Log on to the SAG console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.
  3. On the Enterprise Codes page, find the desired enterprise code and click Set as Default in the Operation column.

  4. In the Set Default Enterprise Code dialog box, confirm the enterprise code information and click OK.

Change an instance's enterprise code

You can change the enterprise code for any SAG app instance from the default to a custom one.

  1. Log on to the SAG console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway App > SAG App Instances.
  3. On the SAG App Instances, find the desired instance, and in the Operation column, choose 更多 > Change Enterprise Code.

  4. In the Change Enterprise Code dialog box, select a target enterprise code and click OK.

    • Existing Enterprise Code: Select an existing enterprise code.

    • Create Enterprise Code: You can enter a new enterprise code. The system then creates the enterprise code and automatically binds it to the current SAG app instance.

The enterprise code must be 5 characters long and include letters and digits. Letters are case-insensitive. The code must be globally unique.

Delete an enterprise code

Before you delete an enterprise code, note the following:

  • You cannot delete a default enterprise code.

If you want to delete an enterprise code that is the current default, you must first set a different code as the new default. For more information, see Change the default enterprise code.

  • You cannot delete an enterprise code that is bound to an SAG app instance.

If the enterprise code that you want to delete is bound to an SAG app instance, you must first assign a different enterprise code to the instance. Then, you can delete the original enterprise code. For more information, see Change an instance's enterprise code.

  1. Log on to the SAG console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.
  3. On the Enterprise Codes page, find the target enterprise code and click Delete in the Operation column.

  4. In the Delete Enterprise Code dialog box, confirm the enterprise code information and click OK.
