Purchase SAG devices

Smart Access Gateway (SAG) devices connect on-premises networks to the Internet and Alibaba Cloud. After you purchase an SAG device, an SAG instance is automatically created to manage the device.

Background information

The purchase method for SAG devices varies based on the area of your on-premises network.

  • Chinese mainland

    You can directly purchase SAG devices.

    For more information, see the "procedure" section in this topic. After you place an order, the SAG device is shipped within two business days. You can view the shipping updates in the SAG console. For more information, see Step 8.

    Note

    Shipping is available only within mainland China. For regions outside mainland China, contact your account manager.

  • Outside the Chinese mainland

    1. SAG devices cannot be purchased through the SAG console for areas outside the Chinese mainland. To purchase, contact your account manager.

      Note

      SCG5000 devices cannot be purchased in regions outside the Chinese mainland.SCG5000device.

    2. After you purchase an SAG device, you can purchase bandwidth for it in the SAG console. For more information, see the "Procedure" section in this topic.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAG console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region.

  3. On the Smart Access Gateway page, choose Purchase SAG > Create SAG (CPE).

  4. On the buy page, configure the following parameters, and then click Buy Now.

    Parameter

    Description

    SAG Device

    Region

    Select the area where you want to use the SAG device.

    Note

    If the area that you want to select is not listed on the buy page, we recommend that you select the nearest area.

    For example, if you want to use SAG devices in Thailand that is not listed on the buy page, you can select China (Hong Kong).

    Instance Type

    Select the model of the SAG device that you want to purchase.

    • If the SAG device is used in the Chinese mainland, the following two device models are supported:

      • SAG-100WM: suitable for connecting small on-premises networks, such as stores or small branch offices, to the internet and Alibaba Cloud.

      • SAG-1000: suitable for connecting large on-premises networks, such as large branch offices or an on-premises data center, to the internet and Alibaba Cloud.

    • Ignore this parameter if the SAG device is to be deployed outside the Chinese mainland.

    If SAG Existing

    Select whether existing SAG devices are deployed.

    • The following options are available if the SAG device is deployed in the Chinese mainland:

      • No: Select this if you need to purchase a device.

      • Yes: Select this if you already have a device.

    • If the area where the SAG device is used is outside the Chinese mainland, Yes is selected by default.

    Version

    Select the edition of the SAG device. The default value is Standard.

    Quantity

    Select the number of SAG devices that you want to purchase.

    • The following options are available if the SAG devices are to be deployed in the Chinese mainland:

      • 1: one SAG device.

      • 2: two SAG devices.

        If you purchase two SAG devices, they are automatically associated with the same SAG instance in active-standby mode.

    • Ignore this parameter if the SAG devices are to be deployed outside the Chinese mainland.

    SmartAG Bandwidth

    Region

    The region where the bandwidth is used. This must be the same as the Region selected for the Smart Access Gateway device and cannot be changed.

    Instance Name

    Enter a name for the SAG instance.

    Peak Bandwidth

    Select a maximum bandwidth for the SAG device. Unit: Mbit/s.

    Subscription Period

    Select a subscription duration.

  5. On the Confirm Order page, check the order information and click Buy.

  6. In the Receiving Address dialog box, enter the recipient's information and address, then click Buy Now.

    Note

    • If the SAG device is deployed in the Chinese mainland, the recipient address must also be in the Chinese mainland.

    • If the SAG device is deployed outside the Chinese mainland, you must enter a recipient address but it is required only for the next step.

  7. On the Pay Now page, select a payment method and complete the payment.

  8. You can check whether the order is placed on the Smart Access Gateway page. SAG devices will be shipped within two business days after you place the order. To check the shipping updates, perform the following operations:

    1. On the Smart Access Gateway page, find the target SAG instance.

    2. In the Operation column, click the ellipsis-v icon and select View Shipping Update.

    3. In the Order Updates panel, view the shipping updates.

What to do next

After you receive the SAG device, associate it with the SAG instance and activate it.

  • The SAG device is deployed in the Chinese mainland:

    The SAG device is automatically associated with the SAG instance. The SAG device starts working after activation.

  • The SAG device is deployed outside the Chinese mainland:

    You must manually associate the SAG device with the SAG instance, and then activate the SAG device.
