This topic answers common questions about using SASE for private network access.

Is recurring login to the SASE app required?

No. You only need to log in and install the certificate once. After that, you can use the private access feature regardless of the SASE App's login status.

Using a copied certificate on another device

No. SASE binds each network access certificate to a unique device ID and an employee account. Therefore, a copied certificate will not work on another device.

Does private access support wired networks?

Yes. SASE supports private access over both wireless and wired networks.

SASE app: 802.1x and access certificate errors

Symptom

The network diagnosis tool in the SASE app reports an error with the 802.1x root certificate and the network access certificate.

The error details show "802.1x root certificate not installed (Error code: 20018)". Click the One-click Repair button to reinstall the certificate. If the repair fails, log out of the SASE app and then log back in. The app will automatically issue and install a new certificate.

Solution

  1. Click One-click Repair. The SASE app automatically resolves the certificate issue.

  2. If one-click repair does not resolve the issue, log out of the SASE app. Then, log back in and follow the on-screen instructions to install the certificate.
