Enable the container image security scan feature

Billing

Container image security scan is billed based on the number of image scans: CNY 0.5 per image per month.

Enable for Free Edition users

1. Log in to the Security Center console.

2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Protection Configuration > Container Protection > Container Image Scan. In the upper-left corner of the console, select your asset region: Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland.

3. Click Buy Now.

4. On the Subscription tab, set Edition to Advanced, Enterprise, Ultimate, or Value-added Plan.

   The Ultimate includes all the features of the Enterprise and adds support for Container Asset Overview, Threat Detection on Kubernetes Containers, and Unified Visibility, Cross-Domain Integration. If you have high requirements for container security, we recommend that you purchase the Ultimate. For details about the feature differences between the editions, see Features.

   Note

   If you only need the container image security scan feature from Security Center, you can set Edition to Value-added Service only and then purchase a sufficient quota for Container Image Scan.

5. For Container Image Scan, set Purchase or Not to Yes, and then specify the Quantity.

   We recommend that you set the Container Image Scan for Container Image Scan to cover all unique image scans needed during your subscription. An image is considered unique based on its digest. A quota unit is consumed only for the first scan of each unique image. If an image is updated, its digest changes, and scanning the new version consumes another quota unit. For example, if you plan to scan 10 initial images and anticipate 20 updates among them, you must set the Quantity for Container Image Scan to 30 (10 originals + 20 updates).

6. Read and select the Security Center (Pay-as-you-go) Terms of Service, click Order Now, and then complete the payment.

Enable for paid edition users

• Free Edition: You must upgrade to the Advanced Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Ultimate Edition, enable the Container Image Scan feature, and purchase a sufficient scan quota.

• Advanced Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Ultimate Edition: You can enable the Container Image Scan feature and purchase a sufficient scan quota.
