Change the instance billing method

Prerequisites

• The instance billing method is pay-as-you-go.

• The instance status is Running.

• The instance has no unpaid Change to Subscription orders.

  Note

  If you switch a pay-as-you-go instance to subscription, the system generates a Change to Subscription order. The billing method cannot be switched until this order is paid.You can log on to the User Management console and choose Orders > My Orders to pay for or cancel the order.

Billing

• When you switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go, any remaining balance is refunded to the original payment method. For more information about refund calculation rules and fund flow, see Unsubscription rules and Refund flow.

• Any outstanding fees from the pay-as-you-go period are settled during this process.

Impacts

Instance availability is not affected.

Considerations

Pay-as-you-go instances are billed on an hourly basis. Ensure that your account has a sufficient balance to prevent service interruptions due to overdue payments.

Procedure

1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for SelectDB console.

2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is located.

3. Find the target instance. Use either of the following methods to open the Change to Subscription page:

   • In the Actions column, choose More > Change to Subscription.

   • Click the instance ID to go to the Instance Details page. In the Instance Status area, click Change to Subscription.

4. On the ApsaraDB for SelectDB (Subscription) | Change to Subscription page, configure the following settings:

   1. Select a subscription period and view the expiration date.

   2. Read and select the Terms of Service.

5. Click Buy now and follow the prompts to complete the payment.

Prerequisites

• The instance billing method is subscription.

• The instance status is Running.

  Note

  If your subscription instance is locked due to expiration, you must first renew the instance to unlock it. For more information, see Renewal instructions.

• Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a balance greater than or equal to CNY 100. Otherwise, you cannot switch the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

Billing

After you switch a subscription instance to pay-as-you-go, the remaining balance is refunded to your original payment method. For details, see Unsubscription rules.

Impacts

• Instance availability is not affected.

• When you switch a subscription instance to pay-as-you-go, all clusters within the instance are also switched to pay-as-you-go.

  Note

  Evaluate the impact before switching. For long-term use, subscription is more cost-effective. The longer the subscription period, the higher the discount.

Procedure

1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for SelectDB console.

2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is located.

3. Find the target instance. Use either of the following methods to open the Change to Pay-as-you-go page:

   • In the Actions column, choose More > Change to Pay-as-you-go.

   • Click the instance ID to go to the Instance Details page. In the Instance Status area, click Change to Pay-as-you-go.

4. On the ApsaraDB for SelectDB (Pay-as-you-go) | Change Subscription to Pay-as-you-go page, configure the following settings:

   1. Review the notes on switching.

   2. Read and select the Terms of Service.

5. Click Buy now and complete the switch by following the on-screen instructions.
