Renewal extends the service period of a subscription instance. Pay-as-you-go instances do not require renewal. Pay-as-you-go instances only require a sufficient account balance. ApsaraDB for SelectDB supports both auto-renewal and manual renewal. This topic describes how to renew a subscription ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance.

Prerequisites

Before renewing an instance, ensure it has no unpaid renewal orders.

Note

You can log on to the User Center console and navigate to Order management > My Orders to pay for or cancel the order.

Auto-renewal

Enable auto-renewal for your ApsaraDB for SelectDB subscription instance to prevent downtime from forgotten renewals.

Auto-renewal rules

  • The system first attempts an auto-renewal payment nine days before the ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance expires. If a payment fails, the system retries daily. If payment is not successful by the expiration date, the instance expires. After an instance expires, renew it manually immediately to prevent downtime and potential data loss.

  • The auto-renewal feature takes effect the next day. If your instance is due to expire the next day, renew it manually to avoid downtime.

  • If you manually renew an instance before the auto-renewal payment is processed, the system recalculates the next auto-renewal date based on the new expiration date. For more information about the calculation method, see Renewal FAQ.

  • If you manually renew the instance before an auto-renewal payment, the system attempts the next auto-renewal before the new expiration date.

  • Ensure you have a sufficient account balance, credit limit, or available vouchers.

  • You can use a coupon for auto-renewal.

Enable auto-renewal during creation

When you create a subscription instance, select Auto-renewal.1

Note

After you enable auto-renewal, the system automatically renews the instance based on the renewal cycle that you select. For example, if you select a 3-month renewal cycle, a three-month fee is charged for each renewal.
