You can connect to a Windows Simple Application Server using either the Simple Application Server Management Console or the Remote Desktop Connection tool built into your local Windows system. This topic provides step-by-step instructions.
Prerequisites
The Windows server you want to connect to must be in the Running state.
You have set a password for the server. For more information, see Set or reset the server password.
Procedure
The Simple Application Server Management Console offers Workbench and VNC remote connection methods. You can also use the built-in Remote Desktop Connection tool in your local Windows environment to connect to a Windows server. Choose the method that best fits your needs:

Connect remotely using Workbench (console)
Use this method when you need to operate the instance with Administrator permissions.

Go to the Servers page in the Simple Application Server console.
On the server card, click Connect to connect to the server.
You can also click the instance ID on the server card and then connect to the server from the Remote Connection tab.
In the Remote Connection dialog box, in the Password-based Logons on Workbench section, click Log on Now and enter the username
administratorand password for the Windows server.NoteWorkbench remote connection supports custom port logon. For more information, see Change the Windows remote connection port.
Click OK.
Connect remotely using rescue mode (console)
Use this method when the instance is running but the operating system has not started.

Go to the Servers page in the Simple Application Server console.
On the server card, click Connect to connect to the server.
You can also click the instance ID on the server card and then connect to the server from the Remote Connection tab.
In the Remote Connection dialog box, click Log on by Using Other Methods. In the VNC Connection section, click Log on Now and enter the username and password for the Windows server.
(Optional) Click the
icon and select CTRL+ALT+DELETE.NoteSkip this step if the Windows server desktop is not locked.
On the Windows logon screen, enter the server password and press the
Enterkey.
Connect remotely using MSTSC
Open the Remote Desktop Connection tool on your local Windows system.
On the Windows desktop, press the
Win+Rcomposite key, typemstsc, and click OK.In the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box, click Show Options and configure the Windows Simple Application Server information.
The following configuration items are required. Configure other items as needed.
Computer: The public IP address of the Windows server you want to connect to.
Username: The default username for the Windows server is
Administrator.
Click Connect, enter the password for the default user of the Windows server, and click OK.
If you forget the password, reset it and try connecting again. For more information, see Set or reset the server password.

The first time you connect remotely to a Windows server, you may see a security certificate warning. Select Don't ask me again for connections to this computer and click Yes.
After you successfully connect remotely to the Windows server, you will see the Windows Server 2012 R2 desktop.
