A container group is a collection of containers scheduled on the same host machine. A container service instance can contain multiple container groups. The concept is similar to a pod in Kubernetes. This topic describes how to scale out a container group.
Usage notes
-
You can only scale out container groups. Scaling in is not supported.
-
When you scale out, the same workload is deployed across multiple container groups within a single container service instance, and load balancing is automatically configured among them.
Procedure
-
Go to the Simple Container Service page in the Simple Application Server console.
-
Find the target container service instance and click its instance ID.
If you have many container service instances, enter an instance ID in the search box to find a specific one.
-
In the Information about Elastic Container Instance section, click Scale out Container Group.
-
In the Precautions dialog box, review the notes and then click Go to the Upgrade page..
-
In the Number of Elastic Container Instances section, select the desired total number of container groups.
-
Click Buy Now. On the Pay for your order. page, confirm your order and complete the payment.
On the container service instance card, check the Number of Elastic Container Instances. The scale-out is successful if the displayed number matches your selection.
