The Client.Block.AbnormalTermination error occurs when the block replication transfer tool on the source server exits unexpectedly during an SMC migration task.
Symptom
A migration task in SMC fails with the error message Client.Block.AbnormalTermination.
Cause
The block replication transfer tool on the source server crashed, exited unexpectedly, or was terminated by the operating system.
Resolution
Windows
VSS snapshot read failure
The Windows VSS snapshot cannot be read. Check for VSS abnormalities on the source server. For troubleshooting steps, see Error message Client.Snapshot.AccessFailed.
Insufficient memory
Reserve at least 500 MB of available memory on the Windows source server.
Linux
Insufficient memory
Reserve at least 300 MB of available memory on the Linux source server. Run free -m to check available memory before retrying the migration.
Collect logs and contact support
If the issue persists, collect the /smc/go2aliyun_client*/Logs logs and contact us.
