Integration and deployment
This topic describes how to select a connection type to connect to the IoT Security Operations Center.
Prerequisites
To connect to the IoT Security Operations Center, you must meet the following prerequisites:
You must have an Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform instance. This can be a public instance in the Shanghai or Beijing region, a medium Enterprise instance, or a premium Enterprise instance.
You must be authorized to use the IoT Security Operations Center. This can be through an active free trial or a pay-as-you-go subscription.
The IoT Security Operations Center supports connections with or without an agent. You can use one or both of these methods.
The agentless method does not require device modification or upgrades.
For the agent-based method, you must install a security agent on the device.
Agentless connection
Enable platform risk control
Log on to the product console and navigate to Integration & Deployment > IoT Security Operations Center.
Select Enable platform risk control for the connection method. Click the View button to navigate to the IoT Platform Instances page.
If the security check is Enabled, platform risk control is activated for the instance.
When you activate the free trial or pay-as-you-go subscription for the IoT Security Operations Center, security checks are enabled by default for all IoT Platform instances.
Scan device firmware
Log on to the product console and navigate to Integration & Deployment > IoT Security Operations Center.
Select the Scan device firmware connection method. Click the Start Connection button to open the Firmware Security Scan page.
Once you have uploaded the device firmware, click the Start Scan button to begin the scan task. For more information, see Firmware scan.
Agent-based connection
Create a product
Log on to the product console and navigate to Integration & Deployment > IoT Security Operations Center.
Select Install security agent as the connection method. Click the Start Connection button to begin the connection flow.
Select an IoT Platform instance and a product. You can choose an existing product or create a new one.
Existing product: A product that was created on the Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform with ID² as the authentication method, or a product that was created using IoT Internet Device ID.
Create a new product: The authentication method is ID².
On the Get Configuration Information page, click Click to Download to download the security agent, or click the icon on the right to copy the download URL.
On the Install Security Agent page, click the Click to Download button to download the security agent. For more information about the installation, see Best practices.
After the installation is complete, in the navigation pane on the left, go to General > Asset > Device to view device information.
