IoT Platform instances
This topic describes how to view the security risks of Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform instances and how to enable or disable security detection.
IoT Security Center automatically detects Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform instances, including public instances, Enterprise instances - Medium, and Enterprise instances - Premium.
Prerequisites
You have an Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform instance.
Grant access to data in Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform
Grant IoT Security Center access to data in Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform. This lets you centrally manage the security of your instances and devices, and quickly view the security status and potential risks of your Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
After you grant authorization, IoT Security Center can access specific data and perform certain operations in Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform. The following table provides the details.

When you first access Assets - IoT Platform Instances, you are prompted to grant authorization. After you grant authorization, you are not prompted again.
Enable or disable security detection for Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform instances
IoT Security Center provides security services only for IoT Platform instances where Security Detection is set to Enabled. These services include detecting and parsing IoT Platform logs for security analytics.
If you disable the service, IoT Security Center immediately stops providing security services for that instance. Security services for the IoT devices in that instance remain unavailable until you enable the service again.
Why do I still receive a bill and incur charges the day after a shutdown operation? The reasons are as follows:
Charges may be incurred on the day that you disable the service because IoT Security Center has already performed security detection on the active devices for that day. A bill for these charges is generated and settled on the following day.
