Upgrade a personal test certificate
This topic describes how to upgrade a personal test certificate (free) to a personal test certificate (pro) or HTTPS Acceleration Gateway. After the upgrade, you can enjoy a longer certificate service period, or quickly enable HTTPS for your website with a one-click domain access. This reduces the difficulty of certificate deployment and the operational overhead of frequent certificate renewals.
Prerequisites
Only Individual Test Certificate (Free) in SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 Discontinued) that is in one of the following states can be upgraded: Pending Application, Validation Failed, or About to Expire.
The Individual Test Certificate (Free) in SSL Certificate Management V2.0 does not support upgrade operations. If needed, you can directly purchase a Individual Test Certificate (Pro) or HTTPS Acceleration Gateway.

If you do not have the ability to install or configure the certificate, experts can provide remote video guidance to help you quickly identify and resolve technical issues. For more information, see Purchase Certificate Application Assistance and Deployment Services.

Parameter
Description
Edition
Automates HTTPS certificate management for single-domain websites and provides website acceleration.
-
Starter edition-single domain name: For example, aliyundoc.com. This edition is only for personal websites and does not support special domains such as .edu, .gov, .org, .jp, .pay, .bank, .live, or .nuclear.
-
Basic - Single Domain: For example, aliyundoc.com. This edition supports all domain types except for those that are widely restricted globally.
-
Basic - Wildcard Domain: A wildcard domain name enables HTTPS encryption and content acceleration for all its subdomains. For example, if you add
*.aliyundoc.comas an HTTPS acceleration domain, all its subdomains (such asexample.aliyundoc.comanddemo.aliyundoc.com) are automatically encrypted and accelerated.-
Supports third-level wildcard domain names, which can contain up to three dots. For example,
*.example.aliyundoc.com. -
For more information about the matching and complementary domain rules for wildcard domain names, see What domain names are supported by wildcard certificates?.
-
Note-
If your website content violates relevant national regulations, the HTTPS acceleration gateway service is automatically suspended.
-
If your website is under a DDoS attack, it may become inaccessible.
If you encounter these issues, . You can also contact a product technical expert for assistance. For more information, see One-on-one Expert Service.
Purchase Quantity
The number of domain names that can be added.
Valid values: 1 to 100,000.
Subscription Duration
The available subscription durations vary based on the selected Edition. The maximum subscription duration is 3 years.
To prevent service disruptions caused by an expired subscription, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal. After auto-renewal is enabled, the system automatically renews the instance for the same duration as your original purchase before it expires. For example, if your initial subscription duration is 3 months, the instance is automatically renewed for another 3 months. For more information, see Renewal.
After you complete the purchase, you must configure HTTPS Acceleration Gateway. For more information, see Step 1: Add a domain name for HTTPS acceleration. For information about the benefits of HTTPS Acceleration Gateway, see What is HTTPS Acceleration Gateway?.
-
Next steps
After the certificate is issued, you must install the SSL certificate on your web application server for the certificate to take effect. For installation instructions, see Deploy an SSL certificate.
