Monitoring and logging
Monitoring and logging help ensure the availability of your Tablestore resources and the health of your services. You can use various monitoring features to continuously collect data. Alibaba Cloud provides services for monitoring and log auditing, such as CloudMonitor and ActionTrail. These services help you monitor your cloud resources and services in real time and respond promptly to alerts for abnormal events.
Resource data monitoring
You can use the Tablestore console to monitor data for instances, tables, and search indexes. The monitoring data available varies by resource type. For more information, see View monitoring data in the Tablestore console.
Instance monitoring data
On the Instance Monitoring tab of an instance, you can view monitoring data such as requests per second, row statistics, traffic statistics, and CapacityUnit. For instances in VCU mode (formerly reservation mode), you can also view instance type monitoring data.

Table or index monitoring data
On the Metrics tab of a data table, you can view monitoring data for the data table, secondary index, or search index. This data includes average access latency and requests per second.

Search index metering data
On the Index Management tab of a data table, find the search index and click Index Details in the Actions column. You can then view information about the search index, such as basic information, index metering, routing keys, index fields, and presorting.

Time series table monitoring data
On the Metrics tab of a time series table, you can view monitoring data for the table size.

Health status monitoring
You can monitor the health status of your cloud resources in real time. This lets you take prompt action if any issues occur. For more information about health status, see the Alibaba Cloud Status home page.
On the Alibaba Cloud Status page, you can view the real-time status of Alibaba Cloud services in each region. You can also find the RSS subscription method for service status alerts.

CloudMonitor Basic
Tablestore is integrated with CloudMonitor Basic. You can use this service for free to monitor various metrics for your cloud resources and Internet applications in real time. It supports real-time monitoring of resource operational status, resource usage, and service failures.
You can view monitoring data for Tablestore resources in the Cloud Monitor console or using the Cloud Monitor API. For more information, see Monitoring and alerts.
View data in the Cloud Monitor console
You can use the Cloud Monitor console to monitor data for Tablestore instances. On the Cloud Service Monitoring page of the Cloud Monitor service, choose to view monitoring data for Tablestore instances, such as VCU, InstanceCU, RequestCount, and InstanceNet.

View data using a Cloud Monitor SDK
The Cloud Monitor API supports data monitoring for Tablestore instances or tables. You can call the DescribeMetricList operation of Cloud Monitor through OpenAPI to view monitoring data. You can view data for Tablestore instances, such as InstanceCU, InstanceReadCU, and InstanceCount2xxNumber. You can also view data for data tables or secondary indexes, such as AverageLatency, Count2xxNumber, and ReadCU.
After you configure alert rules for metrics in the Cloud Monitor console, Cloud Monitor automatically sends alert notifications if a metric meets the alert conditions. This helps you notice abnormal monitoring data and take action promptly. For more information, see Configure alerting for metrics.
Cloud resource operation audit
Tablestore is integrated with Alibaba Cloud ActionTrail. ActionTrail provides unified management of operation logs for your cloud resources. It records user logons and resource access operations under your Alibaba Cloud account. This enables security analysis, intrusion detection, resource change tracking, and compliance auditing.
ActionTrail records log data when you access and use cloud products and services through the Alibaba Cloud Management Console, APIs, or developer tools. For a list of supported management events for the service, see Management events for Tablestore.
By default, ActionTrail tracks and records events for the last 90 days. To store logs for a longer period, create a trail to deliver the event records to Simple Log Service (SLS) or Object Storage Service (OSS). For more information, see Create a trail.
After you deliver events to SLS or OSS, you can query or analyze the events in the SLS or OSS console. For more information, see Query events in the SLS or OSS console.
To track historical events, you can submit a ticket to request the required permissions.
Simple Log Service
Tablestore is integrated with Alibaba Cloud Simple Log Service (SLS). On the Audit Log page, you can enable the audit log feature. You can use SLS to collect and process log data, such as operation information, operational status, and dynamic business data for cloud products. You can also perform real-time analysis and delivery for real-time log monitoring and auditing. For information about how to enable SLS in Tablestore, see Enable audit logs. Audit logs can be used for scenarios such as security auditing, compliance auditing, and troubleshooting. By default, the maximum retention period for Tablestore log data is 7 days. You can change this period as needed. For more information, see Modify the configuration of a Logstore.
Query and analyze audit logs
When you perform operations on resources in a Tablestore instance, the system automatically collects audit logs and creates indexes. On the audit log page, you can query and analyze the collected logs in real time. For more information, see View audit logs (Tablestore console).
The Audit Log page provides the following query and analysis features:
Histogram: View the distribution and hit count of logs over time and inspect raw logs within a specified time range.
Raw logs: View audit log details and manage displayed and indexed fields.
Statistical charts: Visualize query and analysis results as tables, line charts, column charts, and other chart types.
LogReduce: Aggregate highly similar logs to identify log patterns.
SQL enhancement: Use Dedicated SQL to increase computing resources and the amount of data analyzed in a single query for large data volumes.
Alert: Save query and analysis results as an alert.
Configure alert and monitoring rules for logs
After you create an alert and monitoring rule for logs, the system generates alerts based on the configured check frequency and trigger conditions. The system then performs alert denoising and sends notifications based on the selected alert policy and action policy. This is useful for scenarios such as monitoring tables or indexes in Tablestore to prevent them from being deleted. For more information, see Configure alert and monitoring rules for logs.
