This topic describes how to unsubscribe from a Tablestore instance that uses VCU mode (formerly reserved mode). You can disable auto-renewal to have the instance automatically released when it expires. You can also downgrade the instance, delete its resources, or unsubscribe from it directly.

Before you unsubscribe from an instance, make sure that you migrate and back up its data. After an instance is unsubscribed, it cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution.

The refund amount includes only the amount you paid. It does not include deductions for vouchers or coupons. For more information about the unsubscription rules, see Unsubscription rules for Alibaba Cloud services.
Automatically release an instance upon expiration
You can disable auto-renewal to automatically release an instance when it expires. If you no longer need to reserve computing resources or data storage services, you can also downgrade the instance or delete the resources in it.
Disable auto-renewal
If auto-renewal is enabled, follow these steps to disable it.

Go to the Renewal page of your account.

On the Renewal page, set Product Name to Tablestore Standard Instance.

On the Auto-renewal tab, click Disable Auto-renewal to the right of the target instance.

In the Disable Auto-renewal Upon Expiration dialog box, confirm that the instance information is correct and click OK.
Downgrade an instance
If you do not need to reserve computing resources, you can downgrade the instance to 0 VCUs. Follow these steps:

On the Overview page of the Tablestore console, click
in the Actions column of the target instance, and then select Downgrade.NoteAlternatively, you can click the instance name. On the Instance Details tab, find the Subscription Information section and click Downgrade in the Actions column to go to the configuration page.

On the Tablestore Standard Instance | Downgrade page, change Reserved VCU to 0 and set Elastic Capability to Enabled.

Read and agree to the terms of service, and then click Buy Now.

Follow the prompts to complete the refund. After the refund is complete, the instance is downgraded.

Wait for the refund to be processed.
You can check the refund status on the My Orders page. The refund is returned to the original payment method, which can be your Alipay account, online banking channel, or Alibaba Cloud account.
Delete resources in an instance
To avoid charges for resources such as tables, data, and indexes before the instance expires, you can manually delete them. For more information, see Delete a search index, Data table operations, and Time series table operations.
Unsubscribe from an instance directly
This operation immediately releases the instance and deletes all its resources. This action is irreversible. Proceed with caution.
To stop using an instance immediately, you can unsubscribe from it directly. Follow these steps:

Go to the Unsubscribe page of your account.

Search for the instance that you want to unsubscribe from.

Set Product Name to Tablestore Standard Instance and specify the instance ID or creation time as needed.

Click Search.

Submit the unsubscription request.

Click Unsubscribe to the right of the instance.
NoteTo unsubscribe from multiple instances, select the instances and click Batch Unsubscribe.

On the Unsubscribe page, carefully review the resource information, unsubscription terms, and refund amount.

Click Unsubscribe Now.

In the Confirm Unsubscription dialog box, select a reason for unsubscribing and enter a detailed reason as needed.

Click OK.

Wait for the unsubscription to complete.

After the instance is unsubscribed, its status changes to Disabled.
You can view the instance status in the instance list on the Tablestore console Overview page.

Wait for the refund to be processed.
You can check the refund status on the My Orders page. The refund is returned to the original payment method, which can be your Alipay account, online banking channel, or Alibaba Cloud account.
