Benefit asset sharing

Benefit asset: A benefit asset, such as a Savings Plan or a coupon, is an asset that you purchase or obtain through Alibaba Cloud marketing campaigns to offset your cloud product bills.

Note
  • To use benefit asset sharing, you must enable the Enterprise Account Center for your enterprise and invite other member accounts to form an organization. This organizational structure allows you to share benefit assets from a management account with other member accounts within the organization. For more information about the Enterprise Account Center, see Enterprise multi-account.

  • A management account can share benefit assets with multiple member accounts. However, a member account that receives shared assets cannot re-share them with other member accounts.

Configure benefit asset sharing

Two sharing methods are available: manual sharing and automatic sharing.

Manual sharing

This method allows you to configure sharing for a specific asset ID. You can share the asset with specific accounts or organization nodes. The configured sharing scope applies only to that asset ID.

  1. On the Account Sharing > Equity Asset Sharing page, find the Asset ID that you want to share and click Edit in the Actions column.

  2. In the dialog box, configure the sharing settings. Two sharing types are available: Share with Account and Share with Organization.

    • Share with Organization: Shares the asset with one or more organization nodes. The scope of accounts that can use the shared asset is automatically updated as the organization's membership changes.

      Note

After you share an asset with an organization, the accounts that can use the shared asset automatically adjust as the organization's membership changes.

If a new account joins the organization, it automatically gains access to the shared asset, provided the account limit is not exceeded. If an account is removed from the organization, its access to the shared asset is automatically revoked.

When an account's organizational unit changes, the sharing relationship updates within about a minute.

Trial Savings Plans cannot be shared.

    • Share with Account: Shares the asset with a fixed list of specified accounts. This scope does not change unless you manually adjust it.

  3. Select the specific accounts or organization nodes for the sharing scope, and then click OK.

Automatic sharing

Automatic sharing settings

You can configure automatic sharing rules by asset type. After you configure a rule, the system automatically shares new assets of that type with the specified sharing scope.

  1. On the Account Sharing page, click Configure Automatic Sharing.

  2. In the dialog box, enable automatic sharing for the asset types you want to share. Then, select a sharing type, specify the sharing scope, and click OK.

    Note
    • After a newly purchased asset becomes active, the system automatically shares it according to the configured rule within 10 minutes.

    • After you share an asset with an organization, the accounts that can use the shared asset automatically adjust as the organization's membership changes.

    • If a new account joins the organization, it automatically gains access to the shared asset, provided the account limit is not exceeded. If an account is removed from the organization, its access to the shared asset is automatically revoked.

    • When an account's organizational unit changes, the sharing relationship updates within about a minute.

    • Trial Savings Plans cannot be shared.

Asset sharing status

On the Equity Asset Sharing page, use the Account filter. A management account can view the benefit assets of its member accounts. You can also search by asset ID to check the sharing status of a specific asset.

  • Asset Owner Account: The name of the Alibaba Cloud account that owns the asset.

  • Asset ID: The unique ID of the asset.

  • Asset Type: The type of the asset, such as Savings Plan, Reserved Instance, storage capacity unit (SCU), or coupon. You can click image to filter by asset type.

  • Asset Status: The status of the asset, such as Active or Expired. If an asset has expired, member accounts can no longer use it for deductions.

  • Share Status: Indicates whether the asset is shared.

  • Sharing Scope: Displays the sharing scope for the asset, such as a list of accounts or organization nodes.

  • Operator: The Alibaba Cloud account that last modified the sharing settings.

  • Last Operation Time: When the sharing settings were last modified.

  • Actions: Available operations, such as viewing sharing details, editing sharing settings, or canceling sharing.
