Resource trade-in
Some cloud products allow you to trade in resources between different sales models. For example, you can trade in an Object Storage Service (OSS) resource plan for OSS reserved capacity. This document describes the billing rules for these trade-ins.
Trade-in billing rules
Trade-ins are calculated based on a refund-and-purchase model. The amount you pay or receive is determined as follows:
Payable amount/Refundable amount = Payable amount for the new configuration - Remaining value of the old configuration
-
Payable amount for the new configuration = List price of the new configuration × Applicable discounts
-
Remaining value of the old configuration = Σ for all orders (Remaining cash value + Remaining credit voucher value + Remaining coupon value)
-
Remaining cash value = (Remaining duration / Total subscription duration) × Actual amount paid for the order
-
Remaining credit voucher value = (Remaining duration / Total subscription duration) × Credit voucher amount
-
Remaining coupon value = (Remaining duration / Total subscription duration) × Coupon amount
-
If the calculated value is greater than 0, you must complete the payment. Payable amount = Payable amount for the new configuration - Remaining value of the old configuration
If the calculated value is 0, no additional payment or refund is required.
If the calculated value is less than 0, the difference is refunded to you. Refundable amount = Remaining value of the old configuration - Payable amount for the new configuration
-
"Actual amount paid for the order" refers to the cash payment for an order. This amount does not include payments made with credit vouchers or coupons.
-
If the calculated refund exceeds the remaining cash value of the old configuration, the refund amount is capped at the remaining cash value.
-
Remaining duration = Order end time - Trade-in effective time.
-
You must pay for trade-in orders on the same day that they are created. Otherwise, the orders are automatically canceled.
-
When you trade in an OSS resource plan for OSS reserved capacity, the start and end times of the new resource are based on the subscription duration you select on the trade-in page.
