Function overview

  1. Resource sharing is available only for linked accounts that are under finance trusteeship.

  2. By default, a root account's resources can be shared with all linked accounts under its finance trusteeship. To share resources with specific accounts, you can add them to a user group and configure the resources to be shared only with that group.

  3. When you add a new linked account with sharing enabled, it can use the root account's shared resources. Otherwise, it cannot.

Important
  • The resource sharing feature is in a grayscale release. To request a trial, contact your service manager.

  • The new Enterprise Finance feature was released in batches starting at 12:00 on August 1, 2022 (UTC+8). The previous version is no longer updated. We recommend that you upgrade to the new version promptly. For more information, see Instructions for upgrading from Enterprise Finance to Enterprise Management.

Set up sharing by account

  1. You can configure resource sharing only for linked accounts that are under finance trusteeship.

  2. After you enable sharing for a linked account, it can use the root account's shared resources.

Set up sharing by user group

  1. A resource can be shared with multiple user groups, and a user group can be granted access to multiple shared resources.

  2. Resources shared with a user group can be used only by linked accounts under finance trusteeship within that group. You cannot share these resources with individual accounts.

  3. After a linked account is added to a user group, it automatically gains access to the resources shared with that group. The account can then no longer use benefits that are shared on an individual account basis.

For example, the root account Master has a reserved instance resource R1. The linked accounts Sub1, Sub2, Sub3, and Sub4 are all configured to share resources from Master. Sub1 and Sub2 are in the user group UserGroup1. In this case, Sub1, Sub2, Sub3, and Sub4 can all share R1.

1

If R1 is configured to be shared only with UserGroup1, then only the accounts in that group, Sub1 and Sub2, can share R1. Sub3 and Sub4 will no longer have access to R1.

2

  1. If a linked account is removed from a user group, it can no longer use the resources that were shared with that group.

Viewing shared coupon details

  1. You can share resources only with linked accounts that are under finance trusteeship.

  2. A linked account under finance trusteeship that is not in a user group can use the root account's shared benefits only if its individual sharing setting is enabled.

  3. A linked account under finance trusteeship that is in a user group can use the resources shared with that group. If no resources are shared with the group, the account can use the root account's resources only if its individual sharing setting is enabled.

How resource sharing works for a root account

Resource dimension

  1. When a resource is shared with a user group, only linked accounts within that group can use the resource.

  2. A resource that is not shared with a user group can be shared by two types of users:

    1. Linked accounts that are not in any user group and have their individual sharing setting enabled.

    2. Linked accounts that are in a user group with no resources shared with it and have their individual sharing setting enabled.

By account

  1. After a linked account is added to a user group:

    1. If resources are shared with that user group, the linked accounts in the group can use those resources.

    2. If no resources are shared with that user group, the linked account can use shared resources only if its individual sharing setting is enabled.

  2. If a linked account is not in a user group, it can use resources that are not shared with any specific user group only if its individual sharing setting is enabled.
