How do I make a corporate remittance?

A corporate remittance is a bank transfer used to top up your Alibaba Cloud account balance to purchase resources. Alibaba Cloud assigns a dedicated account to each user. When you send funds to this dedicated account, the system uses a 9-digit unique identifier to automatically credit the amount to the corresponding Alibaba Cloud account, eliminating the need for a manual remittance claim. For detailed instructions, see Corporate remittance by bank transfer.

How do I find the Alibaba Cloud receiving account?

We strongly recommend that you make remittances to your dedicated account. When you use a dedicated account, funds are automatically claimed and added to your Alibaba Cloud account balance after they arrive.

You can find your dedicated account on the Top-up / Transfer page under the Bank Transfer tab.

If you have not activated a dedicated account, see Apply for a dedicated Alibaba Cloud receiving account to get started.

Important

If you are a Jushita user, your dedicated account is different from that of a regular user. First, log on to the Jushita management console. Then, use the Jushita-specific links to check your dedicated account and claim your remittance.

How do I apply for a dedicated account?

To make a corporate remittance, you must first apply for a dedicated China Merchants Bank account for your Alibaba Cloud account. Go to the Top-up / Transfer page, select the Bank Transfer tab, and follow the instructions in Apply for a dedicated Alibaba Cloud receiving account. After your application is approved, you can remit funds to this dedicated account.

How do I get the certificate for my dedicated remittance account?

After applying for a dedicated account, go to the Top-up / Transfer page and select the Bank Transfer tab. Click Download Electronic Certificate for Exclusive Bank Account to get your dedicated account certificate.

Can the dedicated account information be sent to another mobile phone?

We send your dedicated account information for offline corporate remittance only to the mobile phone number linked to your account.

When do I need to sign a payment agent agreement?

If the remitting bank account holder's name does not match the name on your Alibaba Cloud account's real-name registration, you must first sign a three-party payment agent agreement. On the Billing Management console, go to the Claim Transfer > Third-party Payment Agreement page to create and sign the agreement. For instructions, see Use a third-party account for payment. After the agreement takes effect, you can remit funds from a bank account whose holder name matches the name of the payment agent company.

After signing an agreement, must all remittances come from the agent?

No. After signing a payment agent agreement, you can remit funds from bank accounts belonging to either the payment agent or the entity on your real-name registration.

Fund arrival and issue resolution

How long does an offline corporate remittance take to arrive?

  • An offline remittance typically arrives in one to two business days. The exact timing depends on the bank's processing time.

  • Avoid making remittances between 21:00 and 00:00 (UTC+8). Bank processing during this window may delay the arrival of funds by one day.

  • The processing method depends on the receiving account you use:

    • Remittance to a dedicated account: Alibaba Cloud provides a dedicated account for each user. Funds sent to this account are automatically added to your Alibaba Cloud account balance. If you do not have a dedicated account, see Apply for a dedicated Alibaba Cloud receiving account to apply for one.

    • Remittance to a general Alibaba Cloud bank account: If you remit funds directly to a general Alibaba Cloud bank account instead of your dedicated account, the system does not automatically credit the funds. After the remittance arrives, you must manually claim the funds. For instructions, see Remittance claim. The system tops up your account after the claim is approved.

  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has overdue bills, the system first uses your topped-up balance to settle them. For any pending orders, you must manually select your account balance as the payment method.

What to do if a corporate remittance does not arrive?

If your offline corporate remittance fails and your account has not been topped up, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Step 1: Check the bank remittance status. If the bank transfer failed, it might be due to the following reasons. Address the issue based on the specific cause.

  • The bank indicates the remittance was returned

    • Verify that the remittance information is correct. To ensure success, you must enter the beneficiary name, account number, and beneficiary bank branch exactly as provided. If any information is incorrect, the bank will return the remittance. Contact your remitting bank for information on the return timeline.

    • If the remittance information is correct but the funds were still returned, contact your remitting bank to determine the reason for the failure.

  • The remittance failed because it was made during the bank's settlement period

Some banks may experience system issues that cause outbound transfers to fail during their settlement period. Contact your remitting bank to check the payment status. If the bank confirms the transfer was sent, check the remittance claim page again after 20 to 40 minutes.

  • The remitter's bank account is registered by an individual from Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China) using other identity documents

If the payment voucher includes "NonResident+" in the "Transfer Remarks" or "Remarks" field, it means the remitting bank account was registered by an individual from Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China) using other identity documents. Remittances from such accounts cannot be credited directly and require a foreign exchange settlement process with the bank before the funds can be deposited into the Alibaba Cloud bank account. For remittance instructions for these accounts, see How do international customers make a remittance?

Step 2: If the bank transfer was successful, check for the transaction on the Claim Bank Transfer page. If you find the transaction and can initiate a claim, follow the instructions in Remittance claim to manually credit the funds to your Alibaba Cloud account.

Step 3: If you can find the transaction but cannot claim it, or if you cannot find the transaction at all, submit a ticket and provide your proof of payment.

Note

If you remit funds from a bank account whose holder name does not match your Alibaba Cloud account's real-name registration entity, the system may block the claim, preventing the top-up. In this case, you must sign a payment agent agreement between the real-name registration entity and the remitter. For instructions, see Use a third-party account for payment.

Why can't I find a remittance from the Agricultural Bank of China?

Possible reasons and solutions are as follows:

  • Reason 1: The Agricultural Bank of China uses account numbers of varying lengths. If your bank account number is 15 digits long, the transaction data received by Alibaba Cloud may have a two-digit provincial code prefix, making it 17 digits.

Solution 1: To find the transaction, add the two-digit code for the province where your account was opened to the beginning of your account number. For example, if your account was opened in Shenzhen (code 41) and your account number is 02080004001****, the actual remitting account number received would be 4102080004001****.

The provincial and municipal codes for the Agricultural Bank of China are as follows: 01 Head Office, 02 Tianjin, 03/09 Shanghai, 04 Shanxi, 05 Inner Mongolia, 06 Liaoning, 07 Jilin, 08 Heilongjiang, 10 Jiangsu, 11 Beijing, 12 Anhui, 13 Fujian, 14 Jiangxi, 15 Shandong, 16 Henan, 17 Hubei, 18 Hunan, 19 Zhejiang, 20 Guangxi, 21 Hainan, 22 Sichuan, 23 Guizhou, 24 Yunnan, 25 Tibet, 26 Shaanxi, 27 Gansu, 28 Qinghai, 29 Ningxia, 30 Xinjiang, 31 Chongqing, 34 Dalian, 38 Qingdao, 39 Ningbo, 40 Xiamen, 41 Shenzhen, 44 Guangdong, 97 Hong Kong (China), 99 Macao (China)

  • Reason 2: The remittance was made from a sub-account. The transaction data received by our system shows your sub-account number.

Solution 2: Look up your Agricultural Bank of China sub-account number and use it when searching for the transaction. For example, if your main account number is 5047809104031**** and your sub-account number is 000000****, you should search using the number 5047809104031****000000****.

Why is my claim record missing?

For remittances to dedicated accounts that arrived before 17:00 on August 30, 2019, claims were processed in a different system. Although the funds were claimed, the current system does not contain detailed records for those transactions. As a result, you cannot view the specific claim history for these transactions.

What to do if I entered the wrong dedicated account number?

Go to the Claim Transfer page on the Billing Management console. Search for the remittance by entering your remitting bank account number, the remitter's name (the account holder's name), and the exact remittance amount. Your next steps depend on the claim status of the transaction:

  • If the remittance is unclaimed: You can initiate a claim on this page to credit the funds to the correct account. For instructions, see Remittance claim.

  • If the remittance has already been claimed: Please submit a ticket to contact Alibaba Cloud support for assistance.

Note

If the funds have been claimed by another account and potentially used, resolving the issue requires the cooperation of the third-party account holder.

Other remittance rules

Are there any fees for corporate remittances?

Alibaba Cloud does not charge any fees for bank transfers. However, your remitting bank may charge a transaction fee. Please consult your bank for details.

How do international customers make a remittance?

Important
  • This section applies to remittances from bank accounts registered outside the Chinese mainland, including Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), and other countries and regions.

    • You must first sign a contract or agreement with Alibaba Cloud, stamped with an official seal, that specifies the remitting bank account. You can then remit funds from this specified account to the Alibaba Cloud international remittance account through online banking or a bank counter. This is required for proper foreign exchange settlement. The required documents depend on your local bank.

    • If you remit funds to the Alibaba Cloud international remittance account without a pre-signed contract that specifies the remitting bank account, the foreign exchange settlement will fail, and the bank will return the funds. To sign a contract or agreement, please contact your account manager.

  • International remittances involve cross-border fund transfers and do not support the dedicated account method. Manual foreign exchange settlement and fund claiming by our finance team can be time-consuming. If you must use this method, please initiate the process well in advance to avoid service disruptions due to an insufficient balance.

Use the following information for international remittances to Alibaba Cloud:

  • Company Name: Alibaba Cloud Computing Ltd.

  • Bank Account Number: 571905493610901

  • Beneficiary Bank (in English): Hangzhou Wulin Branch of CMB

  • SWIFT code: CMBCCNBS281

  • 12-digit CNAPS number: 308331012054

  • Beneficiary Bank Address (in English): International Science and Technology Building, Block A, No. 391, Wen'er Road, Xihu District, Hangzhou

  • Company Address (in English): No. 969, Wenyi Road, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China

After completing the bank transfer, submit a ticket with your proof of payment and the stamped contract or agreement to request manual foreign exchange settlement. After settlement is complete, you can proceed with a manual remittance claim.

Can I get an invoice for a corporate remittance?

No. We issue invoices based on consumption orders or bills after you purchase and use cloud resources.

A corporate remittance is a prepayment to top up your account balance. Because no consumption of Alibaba Cloud products or services has occurred, we cannot issue an invoice for a top-up.
