Endpoints allow applications to send requests over HTTP or HTTPS to specific domain names that are associated with different service categories. This lets you call various visual AI capabilities, such as face and body recognition, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and image recognition. A region is the geographical area where a service is located. An endpoint is the domain name used to access the Visual Intelligence API. This topic describes the relationship between regions and their corresponding endpoints.
Background
The endpoints for the Alibaba Cloud Visual Intelligence API are public service addresses. An ECS instance in your virtual private cloud (VPC) cannot access the Visual Intelligence API if the instance does not have public bandwidth or a public IP address. If your service is deployed on Alibaba Cloud, you can use an internal VPC endpoint to access the service without incurring bandwidth fees. This option is available only for ECS instances in a VPC that is located in the same region as the service. Cross-region access is not supported.
The endpoints for the Visual Intelligence API capabilities described in this topic are fixed. Do not modify them when you call the APIs in your code.
